  1. These kinds of questions should be ignored. It's a ridiculous nonsensical premise and even attempting to address it directly is a waste of time. There is some value in discussing why this is a stupid question, but none in trying to answer it. A village of 100 people has one well owned by one person. And he "suddenly" decides not to let anyone have water. No context there. There's no other source of water, at all, a situation which would never result in a village of that size, and everyone else is dying of thirst. Dying. So not only do we have an impossible situation, with no context, but we are asked to moralize about it at the last possible instant. And then the person posing the question says, "Don't say it can't happen," because he doesn't want you to be able to call him out on his bullshit. I used to teach karate. Inevitably, a student would ask, "What do you do if a person is just about to hit you in the face. They've already thrown the punch, your hands are down, and their fist is an inch from your face." The answer is, "You get punched." In such a ridiculously contrived scenario, there is no answer. It's an impossible question designed to waste your time and discredit a moral theory. It could not happen, it would not happen, and it should not be discussed in the context of philosophy.
  2. http://www.ky3.com/content/news/Students-sue-after-deputies-pat-down-900-of-them-in-a-warrantless-drug-sweep-427299843.html This is beyond upsetting. Beyond disgusting. A lawsuit isn't sufficient. There should be criminal charges. 40 deputies show up at a high school, lock it down, and then in the process of searching for drugs sexually assault *900* kids because they think there might be illegal activity on campus. No warrant. No parents. No privacy. Girls' breasts exposed. Boys' genitals groped. Hands inside kids' underwear. Every single person involved in this should be criminally prosecuted and put behind bars. Imagine if your child came home from school and this had happened to them. Would you ever feel safe in that community again? The Sherrif responsible defends his actions by saying that it was legal because school administrators were there. No, it wasn't, and even the administrators and their lawyers are saying they had nothing to do with this, they were subject to the lockdown and not made aware of what would happen, and that they view this as a violation of those kids' constitutional rights. Sickening.

Could you emigrate to the Ukraine? Ultimately, the answer is "get a job." I know that sounds harsh, but eventually that becomes the reality for all of us. Work hard and provide value to others. Are you spending your free time going door to door in a suit handing out resumes and asking to talk to managers? Are you trying to accumulate new skills that can increase your value to potential employers? You can learn almost any skill online for free. What new skills are you aquiring? Life is hard. I can tell you first hand, things won't just go your way. You have to go out and get what you want and you have to provide value to others for them to give you anything in return. If this woman is worth it to you then make it happen. Or she really isn't that important to you after all. Just what you want to be, you will be in the end.
  5. Large explosion at an Ariana Grande concert in England. Multiple fatalities confirmed. No cause disclosed as yet. Conflicting reports of gunshots and multiple explosions as well but this just happened so it's a developing story.
