Evidence for Romanian Orphanages Resulting Psychopathy
Gold replied to Gold's topic in Peaceful Parenting
Did you even read the question asked? I was looking for scientific data proving Stef's claims that in Romanian orphanages 1. the nutrition was adequate, 2. violent psychopaths were the result of the babies being fed but otherwise neglected and abandoned. Which part of what you linked proves at least one of the two claims? Did you even glance at the material you linked? The article argues that the nutrition was so poor the kids were dying from lack of food and medical assistance. And the video showed a successful, kind and compassionate individual (the opposite of a violent psychopath) who actually was that Romanian orphan, also the video too never said the nutrition was adequate in those communist orphanages, in fact the video insisted that the nutrition was so inadequate that even the surviving babies were deformed skeletons ... Do you understand that both your sources directly and completely disprove what Stef says, when i was trying to find at least one scientifically sound source PROVING at least one of the two Stef's claims listed above? -
Evidence for Romanian Orphanages Resulting Psychopathy
Gold replied to Gold's topic in Peaceful Parenting
Stefan mentioned quite a number of times: 1. adequate nutrition in Soviet Romanian orphanages, and 2. psychopaths resulting from those orphanages due to lack of attention to the babies even though the food was provided. Any Stefan followers knows any research on the two questions above? Come on people, this is a major question Stefan builds his chain of reasoning. I sure did try to look for it myself, but it could be buried in some archives or something. If you know sources with the actual scientific research illuminating the issue i would appreciate any hints. (had to bump this!) -
I think i heard Stefan mention that the (famous communist dictator Ceaușescu's) Romanian orphanages giving the babies food but no physical love/care/attention resulted in the orphans subsequently exhibiting psychopathic behaviors like throwing cats out of windows etc. I would greatly appreciate any scientific studies proving the psychopathy resulting from those Romanian orphanages as i seem to not be able to find them myself after much searching. Or otherwise correct me if i am wrong and help to clarify what Stephan meant when mentioning the Romanian orphanages in regards to psychopathy? ( My main question is about the psychopathy as i am really looking for that information and cannot find any. But here is another side question: I think Stefan also might have mentioned that the orphaned babies were adequately fed, but were dying because of attention deprivation. If so, it would help to see sources proving that the nutrition, ensuring proper level of the babies' physical health, was in fact adequately provided in the orphanages for all babies back then.) Help in finding relevant research information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Haha indeed, what a straightforward and obvious way to distinguish truth from completely unproven, delusional superstitions and fantasies.

If anybody here well versed in math, logic, geometry could add to what Ofd said above... that axioms are not just random concepts accidental humans arbitrarily decided to use as true, out of blue. There is more to axiomatic concepts and logic than mere empty statement. If somebody knowledgeable in math could elaborate on that? To show how axioms are there for a reason, or that axioms have to meet certain criteria to qualify to be an axiom. Would be great in our quest to lessen BS superstitions and confusion in the world... for the benefit of ours and our kids' happy tomorrow.

Yeah, the person who started the debate is to become a medical doctor in 2 years. But he told me he is also a partly native "shaman", and then also "believe in" Buddhist duality non-duality....

AHAHA awesome. Now i can kick their ass with their own logic and universality! thank you Ferssitar! Beautiful , thank you for this educational input, Ofd!

In an answer to my "Where is proof that God exists?", a superstitious person said: "True statements can exist without proof. You don't prove that a straight line always is 180°/1pi it just is. Mathematicians didn't prove that a line is always 180° they defined it as such. It's a mathematical statement, albeit but the none the less a statement that no mathematical principle will logically prove because it is axiomatic. But it is still considered "true". How would you as an atheist answer that argument? Thank you.

Hello good people. Stefan often says that the State run education keeps costing more money while plummeting in quality. May i ask if anybody here has good sources of data showing decreasing literacy levels or educational standards and changing the tests standards etc, which Stef often mentions. Thank you in advance.

Libertarians often argue against taxes saying that according to historical data when taxes go down charitable donations usually go up. Logically it makes sense as people of course love naming Universities after themselves, or becoming respected patrons of charities, or giving to research on cancer etc. With Trump reducing funding for scientific research but also reducing burdens of regulations and taxes, having such data which proves benefit for society in form of private charitable donations is urgently needed!! Help to find it, please!!. Because basic scientific research cannot be profitable, for profit businesses will not be able to contribute. So there is growing worry among scientific community... If anybody here knows good sources with data and charts proving pattern of inverse correlation between taxes and charitable donations, i would greatly appreciate it, because to have such data freshly available on the net right now would be helpful in trying to separate govt and science in the minds of most brilliant scientists on the planet (good!), and show how it is possible even with reduction in govt power to have functional civilization and make the case for human Liberty (great!). Thank you in advance!

Aubrey de Grey Announces Progress in MitoSENS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-teTeyUPsJM ^Awesome news from the genetic bio-medicine battlefield front. My personal respect to the scientists fighting human diseases and disabilities day and night, is literally infinite. I am proudly donating to their research and will continue to do so in the light of this incredible success. This particular news is significant because mitochondria is part of human cells that produces our energy like little power-stations, using oxygen we breathe in, but the side-effect is damage from this ongoing chemical reaction of energy synthesis. (Usually called in popular culture as "free-radicals" oxidative damage.) The area of the cell taking most stress is where energy production happens - mitochondria. Mitochondria health is important because it houses a few of our genes we do not want damaged. To make a simplified example: whales live twice human lifespan (!!) because they breathe less than us allowing for less damage from oxygen. This news shows that we should be able to fix free radicals oxidation damage problem by transferring our genes from the mitochondria into the nucleus (central part) of our cells, which is farther away from where oxygen processing in the cell happens, making human genes less susceptible to damage. As biotech is becoming a wide-spread knowledge these days, do not fall behind in fundamental understanding of how human body works! Learn more at http://www.sens.org/

Torero, may i ask you which exactly part of that cartoon was it that propelled you to call it the surreal, the really really sickiest, which beats the USSR and the nazis, and which made you speechless? And also what was the reason behind linking that EU shopping site?

http://kristof.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/02/01/an-open-letter-from-dylan-farrow/ [Accusations that Woody Allen had abused his adoptive daughter] http://pagesix.com/2015/07/30/woody-allen-soon-yi-responded-to-me-because-i-was-paternal/ [Woody Allen’s relationship with Soon-Yi is creepier than you could imagine] I know very little about Woody Allen, but clearly, being a creepy child molesting scumbag is a sure way to experience life as an unbearable nightmare, especially with age. Obviously his only relief is to welcome dementia and dream of going mad as a soothing relief from full realization of what he committed and never made proper moral correction / amends. My god he is so miserable. eeww. And after watching that vid, do you really feel like watching that movie? I don't. Cheers!

I see, thank you good people for your help. I appreciate it.

Seeking help in figuring out out who is the woman speaking in the video? I wish i knew who she is so that i could follow her other videos or whatever work she does. Thank you.

My goodness this is so awesome, thanks for doing this, Alex. Yes, i am totally with you, just about each and every person who see the title gets confused about the word "preferable". The word itself sort of has a connotation of personal, subjective preference, which adds to the confusion. Too bad this linguistic technicality is distracting people from even starting discussing the UPB principles themselves. There were tons of great conversations about it in the chatroom after which some conclusions made sense to me: 1.The word preferable is not usually used to mean "able to be preferred". 2.Universalizeable (although it's not a real word!) would be a clearer term. (универсализируемый in Russian?)

Anybody has any thoughts on this? --> wiki quote: The Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences is a monetary award, funded by internet entrepreneurs: Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan of Facebook; Sergey Brin of Google; entrepreneur and venture capitalist Yuri Milner; and Anne Wojcicki, one of the founders of the genetics company 23andMe. The Chairman of the Board is Arthur D. Levinson of Apple. The award of $3 million, the largest award in the sciences, is given to researchers who have made discoveries that extend human life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakthrough_Prize_in_Life_Sciences Also, isn't this immortal creature cute and glowy http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/02/magazine/can-a-jellyfish-unlock-the-secret-of-immortality.html

Being Erica: Time Travelling Therapy

Hey Morse Code, looks like an awesome suggestion. Much appreciated. Watched first 5 min of Episode 1. Loving it so far! And also thanks for enriching my vocabulary arsenal by teaching me a new word --> dramedy! Stephen, thank you for sharing. That indeed must have been a horrible experience to be strapped down and unable to move properly like that, and feeling near death as a result... must have been enormously traumatic. Healing the true baby-self like you do is such an important job, thank you for showing what can be done.- 16 replies

http://www.cancer.org/treatment/treatmentsandsideeffects/complementaryandalternativemedicine/herbsvitaminsandminerals/turmeric http://www.mightyturmeric.com/80/cancer-rates-india-versus-us/ Cancer Loves Sugar - CBS 60 Minutes Not that i am suggesting "alternative" treatment vs traditional, not at all... because I don't see why should it be one vs the other. Maybe the latter can take care of the symptoms (tumors), while the former just adjust the life/eating style to prevent recurrence I also understand that Stefan probably already has a fairly healthy life and eating style, i did not mean to tell what to do, or anything... Turmeric came to my mind (it also tastes good) so i posted just in case. Stefan, please stay strong and do all treatments possible and everything in between. Infinite love and admiration to you and your amazing family. And FDR!
