I have no idea about his past guilt with the Trayvon Martin thing. I do know that he was acquitted. I do know that he is probably the most hated person in America. I do know that he has only a couple bucks to his name. I do know that he is 2.5 million dollars in debt, mostly in attorney fees for a case in which he was acquitted. I know he was almost dependent on living with this woman who was telling him to move out. I know that if I was in that situation I would be incredibly distraught and helpless and see no way out. Obviously, what he did was not ok, but if because of the state you lost over a year of time, all of your money, all potential future money you could possibly earn, all of your friends and family, and you are one of the most known and most hated people in the country it makes sense that he at least wouldn't be acting the most rationally. We know that he was acquitted, and we also know that his life is so messed up now that it may have been better if he was in jail for the rest of his life. Whether he was guilty or not, he still loses.

I can only speak for myself, but I am actuallly quite excited. It gives me a price where I can increase my position a little. Legitimate increases are amplified by hype, then the day traders divest and things crash. In general, a crash is when I want to buy because I am long-term bullish on Bitcoin.

I will be adding CoinBase because of the recommendations I have seen for it. Their fees seem really, really good: Buy: 1% + $0.15 Sell: 1% + $0.15 Send & Receive: Free (we pay the miner fees) They also seem to have a decent solution for online wallet protection, however I would still recommend you to not keep coin in an online capacity for very long except for small amounts or when actively buying or selling. I prefer not to depend on others for my Bitcoin security because there have been problems in the past with exchanges that weren't very good with security. However, if I was going to keep my coin online, this would be a good option. I think this security is where the daily max comes from. They hold a percentage of their coin offline and unspendable. However I cannot find current information on what their limits are. If you can find something and link it, then I would appreciate it.

Bitcoin - where have you bought them?
Wesley replied to Omega 3 snake oil's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
http://board.freedomainradio.com/topic/37598-bitcoin-getting-started/ This link has a section on how to get Bitcoins. If you are looking for easy ways without the problems of the big exchanges, I recommend localbitcoins.com. It puts you in touch with people in your area looking to buy or sell. Make sure it is a public location. I also have used bitinstant.com and Charlie Shrem who owns the company is an ancap who supported AVTM when he had his independent show, however they seem to be in the middle of a re-launch so you can't patronize them. For them it is basically using cash to send a MoneyGram and to have your coin by the time you walk out of the store. -
Congratulations on making money on your channel. I am also glad to see you have the fire in you to get done the things that you feel need to get done.

I am not very good at this game. Every time you tell me you are coming after me, I have to vote up your post. I have thought that it would be cool to "spend" positive reputation in order to "buy" extra votes for people. Then I realized that anyone who posts somewhat regularly will have maybe a post or two a day. I can just go to all of their posts and upvote them up every day which would boost their rating if someone wanted to at no real cost. I do like the idea of spending reputation to back someone else, though. I think it should be at a negative ratio. Like 5 points for 1 reputation. Also, it could place an entry onto their reputation page like "this user was backed by NAME for 5 reputation point boost" which in a sense would link the accounts. If I kept supporting troll accounts it would 1- be expensive and not very worthwhile because of the cost in reputation to the main account and 2- start to bring questions to my account as those accounts with negative rep are linked to mine. I was working toward getting a nice rep for a while, but there is a point of, well I have 165 as of this post. what am I really going to do with 166? What happens if I have 1,600? I seems somewhat meaningless at some point. Spending points for bumping other's reputations, putting in podcast requests with votes to back the request, or adding more tiers in reputation would be ways to continue the ladder climb of reputation. I have no idea how much time it is worth spending on the reputation system though. A lot of these changes seem cool to the handful of people who spend a bunch of time on the board, and otherwise don't mean much to many of the people involved in the broader conversation. I see lots of cool ways to develop the reputation into a massive sink-hole of time and resources for not a lot of gain. It is hard for me to make up my mind.

Why don't Atheists have the coolest holidays?
Wesley replied to LifeIsBrief's topic in Atheism and Religion
The first thing to realize is that atheists are not dogmatic in their holidays. Not all holidays are celebrated by every atheist. Atheist Holidays Celebrated by Some in Calendar Order: New Year's because atheists use the same calendar as religious people. Daylight Savings Time is the worst day of the year for the "spring forward". You lose an hour! National Day of Reason because the state made a National Day of Prayer on the first Thursday of May. This is the same day. Only it isn't ridiculous pleading to non-existent beings. Shark Week occurs in Late July of Early August every year. The atheist version of Holy Week. Daylight Savings Time for "fall back" is my favorite holiday. You get an extra hour! Festivus is Christmas for the Rest of Us! For those who do not like the classic "Santa and Jesus" Christmas, they can trade in that tree for a Festivus Pole. Many of the traditions of Christmas are still carried over to Festivus. Most of all, we all know that really -
Yes, it is possible to be an enjoyable hobby that wastes money, and I have done that myself for a bit. Almost every hobby wastes money at some point, but you find joy in it and it becomes worth it. I just wanted to be extra clear about the negatives so that people didn't enter mining thinking they will necessarily make money. In a side note, since I posted yesterday that this price was around $505, today the price has breached $600. I am pretty sure when I started the thread, Bitcoin was less than $200. hopefully a few people were able to benefit from the increase. Of course, be wary. These large increases have happened before where the price gets ahead of itself a bit and then it crashes down a bit. We will have to see if it keeps going up.

I do not think there is a way I could answer this for you as I do not know exactly what you are feeling. I highly recommend couples therapy for both of you (assuming you are talking about you) in which you can both express all of your emotions, come to a solution if possible, and if not to negotiate and arrange things in the best way possible for the kids. Again, if this is you, I am so sorry that you have to go through this.

I think the reputation should stick some. There are people who have earned a positive or negative reputation and it should be reflected. I could see cutting the current reputation in half every quarter or something. Resetting to 0 is pretty rough and especially with people who have earned a negative reputation it would obfuscate their past and possibly lead to them trolling more or doing the same arguments every period as people cannot see the past. I very much agree with this. I think more people should be voting what they think of posts. People can contribute to the community in a variety of ways and get a positive reputation even if they have one position or thread they get downvoted on. It provides feedback that can be very valuable. Especially if you see a post that is -1 or -2 it would be very good for others to look it over and see if it is justified and "approve or disapprove" of the negative rating. If people vote more or ask why votes occurred we can work to make sure the reputation is appropriate. I do think individuals can be vengeful or irrational in a debate. However, I trust the collective judgment of people on here and if many people vote then it will provide a better picture as to what is going on.

$13 each X 27 = $351 1 Bitcoin in current USD = $505 .001 Bitcoin a Day = 695 days (almost 2 years before you break even) This does not factor in a fluctuating BTC price. Prices could go up or down leading to better or worse profitability. This does not factor in a rising difficulty. It is unknown how difficult mining will be in the future, but it is guaranteed to be significantly higher in 2 years than it currently is. This could easily stretch it out to 3 years or even further depending on how much the difficulty rises. This does not factor in electricity costs which could easily be more than .001 bitcoin a day, however I am not sure. This may make it nearly impossible to break even without a large jump in the value of bitcoin (which could easily happen) However, you would get all of the bitcoin now and ride the wave up or down with no up front costs, no worries about difficulty, and no power usage if you just exchanged BTC for USD. This is why I would recommend against mining until you know what you are doing, because there are a lot of mining options geared to new people entering the market that look really good, but when you run the numbers they just do not make sense. There is no reason to speculatively mine now as you could buy bitcoin to speculate.

https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/appeal-to-authority The article is also garbage. Saying things like "his science" and begging the question "if you accept A then..." He also doesn't like the concept o time so instead invents his own concept of "nows" with no proof except analogy. As stated earlier, being a scientist and spouting garbage doesn't mean the garbage now has credibility.

I agree. The best thing you can do is to really focus on what you learned. Even a terrible job can give you valuable lessons that make you a better employee for a future job.

13% of voters think Barack Obama is the anti-Christ, including 22% of Romney voters This one was interesting just for how silly of a question it is. However, I was very interested to hear how many Obama voters thought Obama was the anti-christ. That would be a fun statistic. Might uncover either joke respondents or closet satanists.

My attempt at a translation/summary: This is based on the idea that your mind creates the world around you. Then when you believe that all of reality is a fiction of the mind, you create a plane of unfalsifiability by which you can make up bull and no one can say you are wrong.. All you need to do is accept that space and time are mental constructs and then space and time do not exist, therefore we never die and are all one.

This is somewhere between an interesting commentary on what people think of official stories, a sad look at how gullible people are, and laughing at the idea that some of the questions were even asked. It is from April, but there was a recent story that said that 61% of people thought the Warren Commission wasn't accurate and then linked to this. I thought it was entertaining and wondered if anyone had any responses. The full survey can be found here: http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/2011/PPP_Release_National_ConspiracyTheories_040213.pdf Here are the results: Conspiracy Theory Poll Results On our national poll this week we took the opportunity to poll 20 widespread and/or infamous conspiracy theories. Many of these theories are well known to the public, others perhaps to just the darker corners of the internet. Here’s what we found: - 37% of voters believe global warming is a hoax, 51% do not. Republicans say global warming is a hoax by a 58-25 margin, Democrats disagree 11-77, and Independents are more split at 41-51. 61% of Romney voters believe global warming is a hoax - 6% of voters believe Osama bin Laden is still alive - 21% of voters say a UFO crashed in Roswell, NM in 1947 and the US government covered it up. More Romney voters (27%) than Obama voters (16%) believe in a UFO coverup - 28% of voters believe secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government, or New World Order. A plurality of Romney voters (38%) believe in the New World Order compared to 35% who don’t - 28% of voters believe Saddam Hussein was involved in the 9/11 attacks. 36% of Romney voters believe Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11, 41% do not - 20% of voters believe there is a link between childhood vaccines and autism, 51% do not - 7% of voters think the moon landing was faked - 13% of voters think Barack Obama is the anti-Christ, including 22% of Romney voters - Voters are split 44%-45% on whether Bush intentionally misled about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. 72% of Democrats think Bush lied about WMDs, Independents agree 48-45, just 13% of Republicans think so - 29% of voters believe aliens exist - 14% of voters say the CIA was instrumental in creating the crack cocaine epidemic in America’s inner cities in the 1980’s - 9% of voters think the government adds fluoride to our water supply for sinister reasons (not just dental health) - 4% of voters say they believe “lizard people” control our societies by gaining political power - 51% of voters say a larger conspiracy was at work in the JFK assassination, just 25% say Oswald acted alone - 14% of voters believe in Bigfoot - 15% of voters say the government or the media adds mind-controlling technology to TV broadcast signals (the so-called Tinfoil Hat crowd) - 5% believe exhaust seen in the sky behind airplanes is actually chemicals sprayed by the government for sinister reasons - 15% of voters think the medical industry and the pharmaceutical industry “invent” new diseases to make money - Just 5% of voters believe that Paul McCartney actually died in 1966 - 11% of voters believe the US government allowed 9/11 to happen, 78% do not agree

mo·rose məˈrōs,mô-/ adjective adjective: morose 1. sullen and ill-tempered. What age was "younger"? When was he first exposed to porn? What would his parents say if they caught him looking at porn? Did he have to lie and cover-up his porn watching? What about sexual feelings in general, did he need to cover them up? Did he ever see anything sexually inappropriate of his parents when he was a kid? What/when was his first sexual experience?

Zeitgeist and Venus Project debunked!
Wesley replied to Mick Bynes's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
He would not feel personally threatened. The goal is to be correct, not to win or have attachment to conclusions. E-mail Mike at [email protected] to schedule a date. The show is being quite popular and I think they are scheduling into early December so you can prepare your arguments and research Stef's. Also, occasionally a person or two do not show up. So if you just hang out towards the start of a show, you occasionally can get in if there are open spaces. However, it is generally better to schedule as you will be guaranteed a slot. -
