So we all know taxation is theft, I don't need to be sold on that.In debating with a statist as I explained why taxation is theft he posed the question asking if homeowners association fees are analogous. I have never been part of one of these, I don't know all that much about them, and I am curious if anyone has any input on the issue.

So, I get this argument repeatedly when I discuss anarchism with people that don't seem to really have a good grasp on how the market works. It goes something like 'if there was no government all food would be poisoned, all medicine would be poisoned, airplanes would fall out of the sky, etc..." I am sure many of you have heard this before. How do you usually respond? what free market mechanisms could control this? I would like to focus on ensuring the safety of food and medicine in a free market way.
