I have a paper on this: http://persistencesociety.com/papers/aPersistenceSociety/ I have read a great deal of books on society, and found it sad that there has been very little progress of the cocnepts of social contract and government since the US constitution. I had set out to stir discussion on the topic of a better US government by writing this article: http://persistencesociety.com/articles/usconstitution and placing it on the Ron Paul forum (and elsewhere): http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?372831-The-Merit-or-Lack-of-Merit-of-a-Return-to-the-Constitution unfortunately, I found people (all I have encountered) lack the wherewithal and motivation to progress or refine these topics (nothing but commentators). Perhaps a reader here will have something interesting to say.
