  1. I am working with Antony Sammeroff (Enrich your life). He is great is counseling and coaching. He has learnt me a lot about being in contact with my feelings, building good new relationships and making decisions in life. I can recommend him to everybody.
  2. I am working now with Antony Sammeroff. He is really good in helping me making more contact with my feelings and he is very instructive about building good new relationships. I can recommend him to everybody.
  3. What are virtues? Is there a rational methodology to determine if something is a virtue or not? Is compassion a virtue? And why is courage a virtue? I like to hear your toughts about virtue.
  4. @Wuzzums "Competition will lower prices down for healthcare considerably (several orders of magnitude lower, I can give examples)." But how much lower prices? Most hospital-cures cost 100 000 or more. And it's impossible for the elderly to get insurance... For families 100 000 is a lot money....
  5. I have a question. Suppose that we can bring the state down tomorrow. Then a lot of people will get problems. State health insurance, pensions etc. will end. But the elderly and people with chronic diseases, don't have the opportunity to get private insurance.People will give to charity. But the group that will need help is to big. People won't give half of their income away.....Do you know a solution for this problem?
  6. @STer I think politician is a job that, attracts even more pychopaths than that list of other jobs. Politicians even accept less payment in order to control the life's of others. That means their desire to rule other people is very big.
  7. @Think freeAnd how you think about parenting if people are basically evil? Some people say that you must correct the behaviour of children with slamming them. Doesn't that fit in the vision that people are basically evil?
  8. @Zimobog I spend also time in other things than arguing about libertarianism. But a lot of people, I speak do have a negative view about human nature. But what book or what philosopher do you advice most. Locke, Smith, Hume or Kant? @Think Free I think, that vision is less effective. Because a lot of conservative people (wrong kind of conservatives) think, there are a lot of enemies abroad and therefore we need a strong state, with a big military and a lot of wars, because we must target them, before we target them. The same people defend often violence against children. They think, that children need to be slapped to correct their behaviour...
  9. Magnus, you said: "living in a state-designated ghetto tends to make people extremely short-sighted and self-interested, which drops their time horizons down to "right now" and makes their main concern "What's in it for me?" Why is that the case?
  10. I want to read more about human nature. Do you know good books about the goodness of human nature? Most people seem to think, that human nature is evil and that we need big goverment or autoritarian parenting. I want to read more about the opposite view.
  11. In my city (and also in a lot of other places in my country) there is a lot of litter in the street. Very often the government cleans the streets. But after every day the streets are full of litter. In some neighbourhoods there is a lot more litter than in others (the poor neighbourhoods with a lot of foreigners). But everywhere there are antisocial persons who are putting there cans, bottles etc. in the streets and not in the litter bins. That behavior is irritating me. Why are so much people so irresponsible? And why is it getting worse?
  12. Magnus, you said that the standard rules for aggression always apply unless people make an agreement to change them. Suppose that the road users have signed a contract with the road owner about fines for exceeding the speed limits or driving with to much alcohol (or other rules). Then it´s okay to use violence to collect the fines?
  13. I have a question for everyone on this board. Is it legitimate or justified for a private road owner in a libertarian/anarchistic society to use private security agents with guns to stop drivers on the roads for exceeding speed limits or other rules? Is that aggression or is that justified because the road is his property?
