  1. No one I have ever heard is better than FDR/ Stef, but another excellent person I have recently been listening to is Dr. Jordan Peterson. Look him up; he's a brilliant and very honest guy doing great work to make the world a better place. His interview with Joe Rogan (#877) is one of the most interesting interviews I have ever, ever heard. I REALLY hope Stef gets him on to do an interview soon. And also Wim Hoff!
  2. Yes, Castaneda: mysticism/ new-age/ drugs are truth BS = fake philosopher non-sense. Save yourself the trouble. Read/ listen to Stef's UPB book if you haven't already. Real deal philosophy/ ethics, based on universal morality, FTW.
  3. Just wanted to say a big thank you to ToweringTony for this thread. I started looking into Wim out of curiosity after I saw this post last week. And yes, this guy Wim is amazing and the real deal. Like most folks on here, I'm extremely skeptical of grandiose claims of any kind and of cult of personality types and all religious/ new-age garbage. This guy is non of those things and is quite the opposite in fact. Everything he's done has been scientifically scrutinized and verified from multiple universities and scientists around the world, and he makes no claims to any mystical forces, special powers and/ or religion. He is teaching people of all ages to control their autonomic nervous system and related functions, and breaking medical and scientific paradigms previously not thought possible. He is a true pioneer of what humans can do with their bodies when using specific breathing techniques and proper training. Joe Rogan did a podcast (#712) with this guy, and it's worth a listen if you are interested. Joe asks him very specific questions and it's a great interview. I've been doing the breathing techniques for about a week now and it's already helped my cardio and focus A LOT. I am seeing results so quickly that it's amazing to me, especially in my bi-weekly indoor soccer games which are very cardio intense. I am 43 years old and in good shape but Wim's methods have me feeling better than I have in years, and it's only been 1 week. Look up Wim Hof and be amazed at what humans can accomplish. Thanks again to ToweringTony!
  4. If anyone lives in or around East TN, let's meet up! My wife and I are starved for like-minded, rational conversations, etc. I'm from Nashville and I still go there a lot, so please hit me up if you know of a meet-up going on there as well. Thanks, Dave
  5. Hello all. I'm new here but have listened to several hundred FDR podcasts/ videos over the last couple of years (and donated accordingly!). I love FDR and it has truly and profoundly changed my life for the better. Anyway, after listening to the video "my girlfriend hates Donald Trump" today, I'm really having a hard time understanding why Stefan is such a fan of this guy. While I really love what Trump is doing to the media and the political class, I can't overlook his outspoken war-hawk tendencies and big government solutions to almost all problems and am concerned he might start WW3 or something. And remember, this is the same guy (Trump) that says he would execute Snowden, makes fun of Penn Jillette for being an atheist and all the other very un-free market and anti-liberty things that have been pointed out in this thread. I probably need to listen to the video again, but did I actually hear Stefan tell the caller that basically it would be good to vote for him? Please correct me if I am wrong (sincerely). The thing that troubles me most is that I remember a call in show (from what I believe is less than a year ago) where Stefan gave the caller a really hard time about voting at all, for anyone, ever. And the guy was just going to vote from a position of being pragmatic, but Stefan insisted that his vote would change nothing and that voting was an endorsement of the evil political system (which I agree with). Also, in another fairly recent call in show from a Marine who had spent time in Afghanistan, Stefan said he has great respect for members of the military. Just last year I listened to a podcast where he said military members are paid mercenaries who are murders and only serve their political masters for a paycheck. So wtf is going on here? Anyone know the podcasts titles/ numbers? I was in the military and while it was personally positive for me, I have great regrets for supporting that system. Anyway, I'm feeling a bit confused about Stefan's seemingly 180 on these issues. If I have misrepresented anything he said, please correct me. Thanks.
