From the Germans, I've spoken to regarding Merkel, they pretty much agree with her. When asked if their lives had changed in any way after housing a million economic migrants. They said police are everywhere, groups of Arab and African men roam the streets, the groups sit in front of supermarkets, drink alcohol all day and they cannot no longer allow their children to walk to school without a escort. Germans aren't oblivious to the situation in Germany but they genuinely believe Merkel will turn a bad situation into a good one. Nothing shocking, Germans culturally have high trust for their government and leaders.
