  1. For the UK I would echo Tyler's comments. NO FREE STUFF. watch them self deport when they can't compete in a high IQ economy. Other unhelpful people could go with them. I hear Sweden has lots of free stuff.
  2. As much as I enjoy Stef's segments and discussions of the Islam problem I do feel that he's missing out one important point, though I'm sure he will have mentioned it at some juncture. Christianity and civilisation have co-evolved. The bible was translated into English, the church was separated from the state but most importantly the contents of the bible have been held up for inspection and more importantly to ridicule. The Life of Brian is a perfect example although many others exist. Imagine showing that film to a fundamentalist Christian and imagine him killing people in Jesus name afterwards. Unlikely. If we can start to treat Islam in exactly the same way as any other religion it would die out within a few generations. TV adverts would help. This is our civilisation and these are our rules. Why aren't we standing up for ourselves?
  3. I have always suspected that the actors who go from skinny to statuesque have just done a steroid cycle. It's almost impossible to experience those kind of gains any other way. If you are very knowledgeable I'm sure it's safe as any other drug. Testosterone injections will mean that your testes will produce less..why would they keep it up if they don't have to..welfare for bollocks. My worry would be that they wouldn't be able to get back in the game if you stopped injecting.
  4. I challenge remainers to cite one example of an economist making a prediction that was borne out by time and they simply can't. Most of their arguments are fallacious appeals to authority. Bearing in mind the funding of these "authorities" depends on the remain outcome it is a ludicrous situation
  5. Stef talks about this in an early podcast. A DRO or group of DROs could invest in a nuclear weapon and make it clear that this would be used against any invading force. It could be paid for by anyone who contributes to a DRO, in effect everyone who wishes to partake in society.
  6. Echo the fox. Set about making yourself great. Be a great employee, a great friend do some interesting stuff, travel, volunteer, go on an adventure, walk the Appalachian trail. Enjoy the hell out of your life and make that your focus, people will gravitate towards you and some of them will be women. Trying too hard to get a woman will make you too grateful to have anyone at all in your life and you'll likely be pushed around in a relationship. Self worth will get you a woman who feels positive about you and you'll feel that you deserve to be with her.
  7. Kids learn about Nazi propaganda in school but ignore the exact same thing in real life. Brexit is a complete no brainer but the fact that it's close is a sad indictment of the British population's naivety.
  8. Thanks for your very valuable contributions guys. of course you're all correct. It's about forcing people to do things that they don't see the point of. Anuojat, I am thinking about suggesting students pick their own teachers to develop a microcosm of a free market. ideally lessons would be offered at times outside the regular school hours too as I don't believe teenagers operate well before mid morning. We are providing a service but they are tied in and it is therefore prone to the usual problems inherent in a coercive system. Dsayers, we don't use violence in my school but we do have the threat of banishment which I think is in keeping with the ideas of liberty and society in general. Of course you're right about seeking distraction, we all do that when under stress of when discombobulated by modern life. Girls in my experience tend to have a will to please their elders more so than boys who have a will to please their peers. Teachers want job security and value it over providing excellent service. It's ironic that my co-workers think I am a bit crazy for espousing ideas about freedom and non violence as they don't equate government with violence and cannot get over their cognitive dissonance in this regard. I have to be careful when talking to anyone in education as the statist doctrine is deeply embedded and protected. Shirgall, I believe my experience of education improved as I had more and more choice but I have learnt more since the advent of the internet than at any time previously...it's all been fuelled by curiosity and the quest for truth. Individual realisation is a tough goal and maybe not available to all..whole new discussion right there. Anyway, I always seek to reduce the levels of coercion but I am constantly thwarted by the juxtaposition of a lack of student motivation being in part caused by the need for a framework. In time I would hope that we could have schools where the learning wouldn't be examined and schools would just be places to try out real world stuff to see what fits. An IQ test is pretty much the best predictor of whether someone is going to be able to do a job or not so we could save kids having to do a whole lot of boring and pointless stuff by using this marker. Any skill specific jobs can have a skill specific entry test and interview. Kids could leave school at 13 and be away on their journey.
  9. Hi all, I have just come off a marathon session of listening to early podcasts 1-160 and I have ideas whirling around in my head. I am a teacher and a housemaster in a boarding school. I really want to be better at my job and I am trying to come up with a framework that can enable young people to be happier and more fulfilled at school. I have written a set of questions and would appreciate any shared wisdom on any individual question or more if you're feeling like sharing. Why are so many young people unhappy? What happens to some young people that makes them happy kids? What do good parents do right? What motivates children? Are teenagers different? Are boys different? What are we doing wrong in education? What kind of humans does the World need and how can we go about developing the right kind of people? Thanks friends Macey
  10. Loving the clarity of thought here. I no longer feel like I'm the hypochondriac and imagining that everyone else is so wrong.
  11. Hi all, first time poster and 3 or 4 month listener to the podcasts. I fully subscribe to an ethical framework built upon first principles and UPB. I enjoy exposing the cognitive dissonance of SJWs on social media and hope that my tiny drops of logic will add to what I hope is a gathering torrent of rationality but they always come back with two or three stock ripostes. Easy to deal with but not always easy to do so with the brevity required by SM. 1. Go and live in Somalia...obvious false dichotomy and ill considered argument 2. So you never drive on roads, got an education etc you are a hypocrite....as soon as I was old enough I started paying my way, would happily have my tax money back and pay for my own stuff in a free market 3. You don't care about other people. A bit true because I have low empathy but I care for good people. It's fairly straightforward to use the Socratic method to leave them confused and angry, if they don't mute or block you when they see it coming but I'm in need of some refreshing new ways to point out to them how wrong they are in 140 characters or less.
