Shit my "friends" post on Facebook, and my rant
Spladam replied to mvorbrodt's topic in General Messages
A few things which come to mind after reading this is #1: The women who genuinely do suffer from domestic violence probably feel a real kick in the ovaries when attentions seekers make up stories about being abused. #2: The statistics are a lie, nowhere is there anyone speaking up and out against the fraudulent statistics except for folk in our own community. Maybe you guys in America have people on Fox news speaking out about it, but even then nobody really listens except for folk like ourselves. #3: Why would anyone feel the necessity to put their entire reputation & image on the line for a few hours or days worth of internet fame? What has gone wrong in their lives and head to make them do such a stupid thing to themselves? It's been said a million times and I'll say it again: WHY DOES NOBODY CARE ABOUT THE MEN WHO GET ABUSED? -
Nice, 70's experimental/prog-rock. I think I've heard of Chariot of the Gods before, probably from the movie the music was used in. But anyway, this peter Thomas guy seems pretty talented.

Dimmu Borgir is amazing, they got to perform live on Norways main TV station during prime-time, 1 hour segment for their concert to played on TV, and the concert itself was sold-out too. I think the concert is called 'Forces of the Northern Lights' or something along those lines. Actually, the only there I don't know of is the Peter Thomas Sound Orchestra, I'll check that out now.

haha, sounds like you're turning into an Aussie yeah sure: - Anubis Gate: "Airways" - Dream Theater: "Breaking All Illusions" - Voyager: "Peacekeeper", "Lifeline" - Pagans Mind: "Search for Life" Also, some heavy stuff: - Symphony X: "Revelation Divus Pennae Ex Tragoedia" - Dream Theater: "Panic Attack" - Circus Maximus: "Ultimate Sacrifice" If you want to listen to the weirdest song ever composed, listen to "When the Joyful Dead are Dancing" by uneXpect (if you dare).

Sepultura and Holst are great, and you can really hear where John Williams gets his inspiration for the Starwars soundtrack from in Venus.

Nope, but I have been trying. Not at 3 approaches per day, but one. I'm working my way up to 3, there have been a few days so far when I have met 3 or more, but most days it's just one.

cheers, I'm not American so I'll try to find the Australian equivalents to the sources you linked. Also, the vaccine is for Meningococcal, which is only treatable with a vaccine and we are starting to see an outbreak of it where I live, so I think I'll be getting it.

RAS? What's that? Women like that are very creepy, especially when you find out that they're single mothers and are sleeping around. I feel sorry for the kids and/or future kids she may have.

Sounds like an addiction. From a reasonable perspective, you know that not looking at it won't kill you. So then why do you feel like it will? Of course, humans need to reproduce and that's why we have the instinct to enjoy sex. However, porn hijacks the sexual pleasure system and diverts your sexual energy from reproduction towards hedonism. Now, porn is not natural. Porn is also in incredible abundance. There is nothing that has ever existed like the porn we have now. Due to such an abundance of a super-stimulant, people are becoming addicted to the stuff. Like with any addiction, the addicts perception of normality becomes elevated and any time they experience their previous state of normality they become stressed. They begin to lose the capacity to cope with real world situations. Like what @Elizbaeth said earlier 'the men who watch porn seem to be weaker'. Of course, my argument here is not the moral argument for why we shouldn't consume porn, but rather a point to enlighten you on your (possible) addiction. I don't know if it is an addiction, but it does sound like one.

Nope, just quit my part-time job to become a fitness contractor. Hopefully I can turn that into a business. Also, I would consider a high standard women as one who would want a man with skills and principles which are beneficial for fathers to have rather than a woman who thinks about the money and resources. I argue that because skills and principles will help to gain resources and money in the long-term, where as already having those things (money and resources) is something which one could gain a short-term benefit from. I'm not sure if that line of reasoning is accurate or not, but if it is then I should look for a woman who is skill and principles oriented too. Also, thanks for all the advice so far, very much appreciated

Cheers Barnsley, I'll check out those links soon, and have a good one too mate.

Oh righto, I see what you're getting at now. The answers are pretty obvious then. For the first one, the importance of being in that environment is that you'll learn from the mistakes of others because they will be going out of their way to make sure you (the apprentice) don't make those mistakes. Also having that mindset yourself is rather beneficial and will get you through the tough times at your job. If the folk you work with are not dedicated, helpful, etc... then chances are that you (the apprentice) will end up learning how to do the trade to a just or just below standard job. For the second one, the importance of having those skills beforehand is basically nil. Every master should have those skills, if not then find another master. These are the skills the apprentice will learn during their time. As for the economic value, this only depends on whether or not her sons are going to be using the trade qualification for work and not just to learn part of how to be a man. If they do use it for a job in the future then undoubtedly they will need to find a trade which is unlikely to be fully replaced by robots in the near future (eg: a robotics technician apprenticeship). Anyway, I hope I answered it properly this time, haha, and thanks for clarifying too. Cheers, Spladam.

I think it really depends on the experience they've had before they begin their apprenticeship. The mind set one has when going into an apprenticeship is crucial to success in the apprenticeship. If you have a negative mindset, you will look for the worst in it, and Vice-Versa. As for choosing the apprenticeships, both need to be considered. If the apprenticeship is for Elizabeth's sons to learn skills, then it should be in regards to personal attributes (strengths/weaknesses) if it is for education for a future career, then both need to be considered. How far is the apprentice willing to compromise with each factor? haha, cheers Barnsley. Well if you do, I'll give you my two-cents, and hopefully it will help.

Most of the job (terrain surveying) was about problem solving. Also being on your feet in the 40 degree Celsius heat whilst wearing long sleeve jackets, jeans, and steel-cap boots really ingrains self-discipline into one's character. It's also great for the sorts of folk who think they're smarter than everyone else as they learn first-hand how important it is for people to work as a team and not be self-serving. These are things which I learnt and your sons will probably also learn these lessons during their time as apprentices. What I learnt specifically from being a terrain surveyor was mostly understanding how important advanced mathematics is, and how to read a map incredibly quickly. Hope that helps!

I already have Autism, so it doesn't really matter if vaccines cause autism. Other than that, are there any reasons as to why I shouldn't get a vaccine which may be life-saving?

G'day Barnsley, Yeah, I was allowed to decide for myself. It wasn't really required that I do one, but it was highly recommended. That being said, I didn't go through public schooling which does have an influence on the schools attitude towards apprenticeships / work experience.

I have no idea, I love everything really, which has put me down the path of entrepreneurship because I can take my journey through many different Industries and areas of knowledge without having to be at university for half my life. But again, maybe there is something I am missing here, maybe there is some way I could be better utilized? I'm assuming that self-knowledge is the path to take to figure this out. Any suggestions? Did you ever find this tricky when you were my age?

I'm not a parent, but I have done some work experience during school and the experience was incredibly valuable. It was set-up similar to an apprenticeship except I wasn't paid for the work. It taught me great skills and your idea to get your kids into an apprenticeship is probably a great idea based upon my own experience. What apprenticeships do you have in mind? Some may be more valuable than others, notably carpentry, plumbing, or electrician apprenticeships opposed to book keeping or sign-making. Also, computer skills are becoming more important than ever which is something you might like to consider. But again, I'm not a parent so I have little experience in raising children and understanding what may be best for them, but please let me know what you think.

FML... well, I better get started. Just to clarify though, I'll probably start making the high 5 low 6 figure income next year, but that is just a prediction. Also, what wisdom would a 35 year old have? And where can I find such wisdom?

Cool story.

I've actually been trying to talk to at least 1 girl per day, and it's going alright, so far it's all failures but I need to try a bit more. And yeah, I guess I'd have to be older for a girl of substance to even consider me.

Thanks for the compliment, but I'm not getting married any time soon, if I ever do.

It's actually quite hard to tell, but there was always narcissism in the mix, passive aggressive behavior to a smaller extent.
