If you have a conversation with your average person you will quickly find yourself frustrated with their inability to think. Honesty and curiosity are met by defensive mechanisms, these people have designed their entire lives specifically to avoid any discomfort. Their dream is winning the lottery or an easy job that isn't challenging but pays well "perhaps a government job or government contract work" so they can spend the rest of their time enjoying leisure. Imagine a group of people playing while a child is being raped nearby. Even a statist would find this horrific, however this is analogically what statists do. Not only do they allow the rape to occur, well after the rape has occurred they become outraged and demand that the rapist be put in charge of protecting all other children from rape. This is the demented thought process that the majority of people possess, bringing it to their attention will only unleash their reactionary animal. Violent sociopaths are able to rule the world because people are terrified of change. People can convince themselves that they are open to change.. They can change their hairstyle, change their fashion accessories, change their Facebook etc.. However they are not willing to even consider the possibility of changing anything that is relatively important or hard to digest. Yes the War on Drugs is destroying families but drugs are bad.. Yes the War on Terror creates more terror but we can't just let the terrorist win.. Yes the War on Poverty is destroying the economy but we can't just let poor people suffer.. This is the pathetic world that people live in. Which is why there is so much emphasis on trivial and meaningless things such as sports, celebrity gossip and status symbols. The oozy lump in the head that these people consider to be a brain will rationalize their submissive existence by repetitively chanting "there is nothing I can do about it, so I might as well try to enjoy myself" or "same shit different day" we have all heard these type of slogans but try making this excuse in the scenario where a child is being raped, almost everyone would think you are despicable. However these same people are not able to make this basic connection in relation to their own sadistic masters. Because they are in fact disconnected from reality, ensnared in a stasis trap of perpetual ignorance.

Hey hey, I recently had a conversation with my mother regarding the government. I was arging as that she is a christian and therefore dislikes theivery. I said the government takes her money forcefully and she has no say in it. Her response is that she gives the money to them willingly because every time she uses the roads she owes them money to finance the war against drugs & iraq/afghanistan. I told her if she did not give the money willingly they would take it anyway. She said she would give it willingly anyway and therefore its A-ok. Is it just me or is she an idiot? I told her she doesnt owe them the sweat off her back and that her money goes to evil causes. She wouldnt hear any of it and I should, "Find a new place to live". Anyone wanna jump on this and assist me in any way possible please? Thanks!

Boy, oh boy. I just got out of my BS geology class at uni, and my prof was spewing so much statist propaganda for over half the class period talking about natural threats to humans on this earth of ours, and how it's the governments responsibility to protect us with their money. In my mind, I could see myself jumping up on stage beside this human microphone for blindly consenting to evil, and debate him on every point he made. I have a feeling it's going to be a long semester for me, and I don't know how long I'll be able to hold my tongue before I verbally lash out at this guy from my front row seat in our auditorium style classroom. I feel frustrated, annoyed, and helpless. I understand of course it's my responsibility on whether not I engage this man or not on his misguided and destructive theories about how state power should be used to fund his rock hobby. Honestly, I could care less about what this asshole thinks, but it's just that there are roughly 300 of my fellow students may actually believe what he says. I have another professor for my sociology class I have to leave for in just a little less than a half hour, and she's the bad kind of feminist as well as a statist. I can't just help, but think about how these two instructors of mine have failed in the private sector after they had graduated with their degrees to turn back around to the state out of their udder incompetence to suckle from it's tits like a baby without the ability to function outside from under the breast of the state.

I've recently run into people who follow the philosophy of Thomas Hobbes. I hadn't heard of him, but they are like, the ultra statists, who have a particular penchant for demonizing libertarians/anarchists.The level of misunderstanding they have of the evidence, history, and track record of governments, along with their starkly diametrically opposed approach to things that I have is just so bewildering and astonishing. I had a lot of hope of how clarifying and sobering, and just logically comfortable the way Stefan approaches things, but once I ran into these Hobbesians, I became so discouraged. Like, as strong as we believe in logic and peace, there are those who so strongly believe in the state as a "place for people to come together" and the only method for protecting against criminals, and just the delusional, delusional track record of the government, and just... so much misattribution, and so muchdelusional fact-twisting. It made me think that people stick to waht they want, for all the emotional reasons Stefan mentions in his podcasts. You do go for the redeemable ones, and use your time effectively. I suppose it might help me if i looked at it with true statistics, just as I told the Hobbesians to look at a holistic view of the fruits of government.Anyway, this is partially my reflections of my encounter with Hobbesians, and my open invitation for discussing the philosophy of Thomas Hobbes as far as the an-caps are concerned. I'm not about to devote a ton of time reading books on Hobbes, but if someone is familiar already, I'd really appreciate distilled points that come down to the most fundamental level as possible (for example, NAP, empiricism vs mysticism, etc), and i'm sure it will be beneficial for the rest of us an-caps when we encounter, what seems to me as the absolutely possibly most opposite camp... possible.
