Unordinary Joe Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Have any of you guys seen anything on Restorative Justice? What do you guys think of the concept? It seems to me this approach would be highly successful and would probably be highly utilized in a Voluntaryist society. The DRO's theory already seem to focus on this kind of thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restorative_justice They have an offical website too http://www.restorativejustice.org/
Bradford26 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 State justice is focused on vengeance toward individuals who act contrary to law. "Restorative justice" should just be called "justice." I like the idea of using the community to force restitution but am sad that their web site mentions using restorative justice to solve public school truancy and church social problems. They are also trying to use the state to change the state to enact a different kind of compulsive law system. I'd like to see a site that focused on using the community to punish criminals without the use of state functions. Maybe a social network-type site that allowed everyone to report and track every crime within specific communities. Then allow businesses to access the database and act as they like with the information. Thanks for reading.
