catallaxy Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 hello one and all, Ive been reading, watching, listening and loving everything Stefan does since august '08 but this is my first time in the forums. I registered because I would really like an answer to the following question and no amount of searching online or within thiese forums has thus far yielded much success: does there exist a torrent of all stefbot youtube videos? preferably neatly filed in order of publication if thats not too much to ask I know the videos are always there in the cloud and I shouldnt really need them locally stored but for some reason I would really like to have em all saved away. I tried ripping the .flv files off youtube but recently youtube seem to have switched to a different file format which comprises hundreds of tiny files I cant make any use of (perhaps this has been done to prevent just what I am trying to do). Its a bit of a long shot but I was hoping there might be someone out there who has downloaded and filed every stefbot upload. If so I would love to hear from you. even if torrents aren't available I would be willing to pay for your time and trouble to perhaps burn a disc or usb drive plus postage. apologies if Ive posted in the wrong section. thank you all for your time, Will
TheRobin Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I'd suggest trying this program then (http://atube-catcher.en.softonic.com/). I just tried it, downloading 2 of stefs videos (an old one and a very new one), worked perfectly with both of them. Also even the download of a 2 hour sunday show didn't take me longer than about 5 Minutes. You can also set the fileformat and resolution of your download to your liking. Hope that helps.
suomipoi Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 If you use mozilla you can use addon like Video download helper to download the video. I prefer this one over youtube downloader since you don't need to open any extra programs outside web browser.
KyleG Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Here's another option. If you're using firefox, you can install an add-on called GreaseMonkey. Once you have that installed, just install this user script: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/25105
catallaxy Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Many thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions. Im going to try them right now. I really do appreciate you taking the time. all the best, Will
