Until the culture changes to equality for men than marriage cannot be advised. I wanted to add that after reading snarge22's comment that I feel as though he firmly destroys any ideas presented in that video.

Common-law marriages can be contracted in nine states (Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah) and the District of Columbia. New Hampshire recognizes common-law marriage for purposes of probate only....
