Alan C. Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 North Forest ISD police officer faces new charges Just minutes after showing up for a hearing, Officer Ricky Ridley was arrested again and was told to remove his belt and tie. It was just two weeks ago when we first reported on the North Forest ISD police officer who allegedly conspired with Lionel Dixon to steal $10,000 from a group they met on Craigslist. HPD investigator Art Mejia says the group thought they were going to buy some barbershop equipment. "He was wearing his police uniform with his police belt and immediately unholstered his gun and ordered everybody out," Mejia said. Police say Ridley then stole their money. Since our first report, another victim has come forward. A homeowner told HPD that Ridley knocked on his front door claiming he needed to speak to someone about a police investigation. Prosecutors say at gunpoint he robbed the resident taking $2,5000. "And at that time the victim was threatened that if he contacted the police the defendant said he would put a false charge of possession of drugs on the victim," prosecutor Michele Oncken said. The school district says it has relieved Officer Ricky Ridley of duty pending the outcome of the criminal investigation. It's an investigation that prosecutors say will likely lead to more cases.
