cjtkirk Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I currently download FDR mp3 podcasts to my computer for listening later. I download 1 at a time. 2 Questions: 1) Is there a way to download them as a group (group the ones I want into a single download) 2) Is there a way to identify which ones have already been downloaded (and hence already listened to) Thanks for any help
Guest NateC Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 There are torrent links at the bottom of the podcast page.
cjtkirk Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 Thanks for the reminder. Have you used torrents? I understand the bandwidth savings but specifically as it pertains to FDR what is the benefit to meof using "torrents"?
Guest NateC Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Yeah, download a BitTorrent client such as http://www.utorrent.com/ You'll get a bunch of podcasts in a nice little package
Freedomain Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Thanks for the reminder. Have you used torrents? I understand the bandwidth savings but specifically as it pertains to FDR what is the benefit to meof using "torrents"? You'll be able to download sets of 100 podcasts at the same time, which is certainly more convenient than one at a time.
Existing Alternatives Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Is there a similar process for BlackBerry (or other smartphones)? Other than downloading torrents on desktop and then synchronizing.
Ruben Zandstra Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Search google play for "podcast". I use doubletwist, which is pretty good for podcast downloading, but not free if you want the essential functions.
Existing Alternatives Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Forgive my technological ignorance, but I just discovered Podcast service on BlackBerry. For those who’s in the same boat, keep in mind that even though the Podcast icon appears on the screen, you still need to download and install the app itself. There is also a matter of setting up whether or not you want to use wi-fi or your cell network for downloads. Main advantage of using it over direct downloads, is that you can start listening to podcasts while the download is still going on.
MysterionMuffles Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 2) Is there a way to identify which ones have already been downloaded (and hence already listened to) Yeah there's a Blue opaque circle next to the podcast titles when you haven't listened to them yet on your iTunes or iDevice, then half of it turns white if you've listened far into it, and the compltely disappears when you've listened to them in full.
