Hterag Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I'm getting pretty tired of being the only rational person I know, anyone else around these parts? Bit about me: I'm originally from the UK but I've been in China almost 4 years, I've worked in a number of different places in the south (of China) and regularly visit Hong Kong. I'd love to get in touch with some people to have meet-ups and philosophise, chat and complain about the world.
NotDarkYet Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Hi Hterag, If you ever come to Shanghai, send me an sms. I'll put you up and show you the sights. (This offer is good until July 2013 when I leave for good) There's even a rationalist FDR friendly group here.
Hterag Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Hi Threebobs, That's a very generous offer, not sure if I'll be heading that far in the near future but I'll keep it in mind. I've actually heard a bit about there being more rationalist/libertarian/voluntaryist etc. communities up in Shanghai. I'd actually expected to find more in Hong Kong but so far I've been unsuccessful.
jb_bak Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I'm headed there tommorrow, will be there for a few weeks (shekou) Might be moving there soon too!
MeGrownMind Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I'll be in teaching English in Beijing this summer.
Existing Alternatives Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I read a lot about the "economic engine" of Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Can you advise on what's there to see as a short-term libertarian tourist to get impressed? Same goes for Hong Kong and Shanghai. Thank!
Pat Bouvry Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 If anyone in Hong Kong would like to meet and discuss philosophy, send me a message.
