The last I heard was that Wikileaks had a bunch of information on the operations of a major bank, and were planning on releasing it

It seems that what happened to Julian Assange was effective in silencing him... or as some hold the whole Wikileaks operation was a trap for real whistleblowers set up by the intelligence agencies. This would explain the massive initial publicity, and the complete lack of mainstream attention since (for wikileaks not Julian Assange).

What do you think is the situation?

Well I have no idea really, but they did release some Stratfor stuff that was embarrassing and um...

I don't think that anyone has been exposed by wikileaks itself, Bradley Manning was exposed by trusting in the goodness of his fellow man, not some flaw in wikileaks security.

I think the Assange thing has worked perfectly as the distraction from any of the real news coming out of wikileaks.

Honestly at this point they could release evidence that the entire Obama administration has been strangling hobos for sport and the New York Times would spin it as some form of being tough on terrorism...

And the whole country would forget it before bed-time.

@ Mick Bynes

BTW what's the context of your sig quote?

It's a joke from George Carlin.  I'm not 100% sure about the context.  It's just a funny thing Carlin said.  I found it in his When Will Jesus Bring The Pork Chops book.  I thought it was quite funny and I usually have that quote as my sig on some forums.
