I have been pulled over for no reason.  Here's my brief story.

It was sometime in the summer or fall of 2012.  I'm driving my car down a hill and this police officer is suspicious of me.  He thought  was driving drunk or something as driving down a hill.  I thought this was ridiculous.  He didn't tell me to get out of the car.  I was driving slow, because I did not want to go too fast down the hill I was driving.  He didn't give me a ticket or anything... and he let me go.  I was glad I didn't get a ticket.  I've never gotten a ticket in my life (I've been driving for over 10 years now).

So has anyone here besides me has ever been pulled over by the fuzz?  Share your story here.

1. Burnt out headlight.  Fixed, no fine.

2. Speeding 80 in a 65. (standard passing lane pace)   Bad place bad time, cop JUST pulled out from another unlucky sod and went after me. Paid $200 fine

3. Expired plate sticker.  I forgot to send in my $75.  Paid fee + late penalty.  Received sticker.   Had to attend a  pre-trial hearing at courthouse because I plead not guilty.  Took cell phone picture of car with new sticker.  Case dismissed.

I absolutely hate being around police.  They get my nervous system ramped up like mad.  I absolutely hate their tone, their body language and attitude.  And I'm talking about when they're being 'nice', not shouting and angry.  Just that horrible passive aggressive, extremely formal manner.  Because nobody in real life talks that way.  It's completely inhuman sounding.  In #2 the woman even apologized for pulling me over.  But it's all so insincere and staged.  People mindlessly following orders, I just can't deal with that notion.  I also hate the uniform.  More intimidation, formality and dehumanizing.

I don't speed anymore for the most part.  Is this a victory for a coercive state enforcing 'safe driving'?  I dunno.  I look at it more as "avoiding any Imperial entanglements"

Don't drive a car much myself. But I was stopped some years back whilst walking home late at night and told that I had apparently come from a different direction to the one I was so obviously strolling from. I was like, 'what are you saying, that I doubled back on myself just so I could pretend to prove you wrong. purlease, I live over there' (pointing at my house). 'I need some sleep now'.

As an older gent these days I don't get much grief from them. Plus I don't tend to have many late night walks home anymore. I am now a model citizen [;)]

Yep. Was pulled over for what I think was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Got pulled over, waited for two backup cruisers to arrive. One guy approached on the driver’s side, the other on the passenger’s leaning on a car with a gun drawn (I was clearly by myself). Was finger printed through a slightly opened window.  Received a citation for driving without a license, despite having an out-of-state license, being a student from out of state. (They must have seen my license from the outside!) Next day went to DMV, got an in-state license, all charges dropped by a judge a week later. All-in-all, a fun day.

Driving while downhill! That’s awesome!

I figured I wouldn't be the only one here to get pulled over for no reason.  Some cops just have nothing better to do.  I live in a town where not that much happens.  So the only excitement that cop got out of that day was pulling me over for no reason.

I got pulled over on my bike a couple years ago for having this novelty tag on it:

I lost the municipal case, had to buy an appeal, and the circuit court prosecutor dropped the charges (but not before trying to get me to agree to a "bargain" that would have me pay the court costs but not the fine).

I would classify that as, "no reason."

The plus side is, I wrote an article about it for both the local paper and my website embarrassing the crap out of the cop and the muicipal judge, and now the cops leave me alone.

I was on my motorcycle and on my way from school to stop by my work. When I go by, I usually drive through the parking lot and around all the buildings to be sure no mischief is afoot.

Unknown to me a cop pulled into the parking lot behind me and had his blue lights on. I would later find out that he didn't like the way I was changing lanes. He, a freaking moron, had no idea I was riding a very short wheel base supermoto with a characteristicly high seat. It makes it seem more dramatic from the front/back when you turn or take a lane. Your body moves more even though you aren't changing lanes any faster than you would be on any other motorcycle.

Rather than getting my attention by turning on the siren, he chases me all around the parking lot, going up and down all the rows of buildings behind me. I can't see him because he is way back behind me and supermotos have useless mirrors. They can't really be positioned in a usable way without becoming a danger themself...

When he finally turns on his sirin after leaving black marks all over the parking lot from sliding around chasing me (while I'm driving very casually), I immediately look back and stop, turning around to face them as they drive up to me. I turn the engine off and flip up my motorcycle helmet. I assumed they were trying to get my attention, knowing this was my business, because cops are all the time asking us for free car washes. We used to have machines setup to allow the cops to wash for free.

The passanger cop jumps out of the cruiser, pulls his gun, and starts screaming for me to turn off the bike (which is already off.)

Watching this cop insanely overreact ruined my opinion of police officers. I've had my run-ins with them before and been threatened and had cops harass me over a prank I hadn't been a part of. However getting a gun pulled on me for no damned reason takes the cake.
