I found this talk fascinating. It starts out like an overview of how to make a better code editor, then builds towards an ethical argument. If you have an interest in programming, you likely will find inspiration.

In particular, the idea that resonates with me is the dichotomy between taking the opportunity to solve problems versus accepting responsibility to correct an injustice.

The implications are staggering. What he is presenting is a different paradigm for looking at ourselves and the world we live in.

Some thoughts:

Just because no one else has seen a problem, doesn't mean things can't be better.

Rather than picking a goal, and defining a course of action to achieve it, accumulate knowledge and experience, and use that to define a personal principle to actualize.

Instead of debating the rightness/wrongness of what others have said and done in the past, use it to move into the future. At which point much of the past becomes moot.
