When I was in middle school I bought myself a D-Carabiner from Amazon, and instead of waiting to go to the hardware store to pick up some nylon rope I impatiently grabbed some jute rope I had, climbed up to the top of the tallest tree, tied the rope down, and repelled down it using the Munter hitch I learned online. Did this twice, unbelievably fun, but the third time, finally, the rope broke, and in my efforts to break my fall I snapped my ankle in two places (and it was like, on opposite sides too because it bent one way on the way down the tree and bent another way on impact with the roots on the ground). Was definitely an interesting experience altogether.

Just thought I'd share a tale of woe lol.

Thanks for sharing!!  This is actually the 3rd time I've broken my foot.  The other 2 were just hairline fractures.  This one is a lot worse. My bone is almost broken in half.   I'd post a pic of my X-ray but I don't know how!!!  LOL

I finally got into the doc today.  No cast but I have to stay off my foot for 6 weeks.  He said there should absolutely be no pressure on it because if I do I could move the bone or break it in half and then I would surely need surgery.  I can't even drive!!!!!  WTH?!  How the hell am I going to get to work???
