Phil Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Hi, my dad will celebrate his 70th birthday soon. I would like to give him a good introduction on the topic anarchism/voluntarism, that is concise, well written, not too difficult to read or too long etc., basically a primer on the subject, since he is still an unrelenting statist. Any proposals?
Kevin Beal Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I think Everyday Anarchy is a good introductory work. I especially like how it argues in a very reasonable way what anarchism is and how to think about it, as compared to something like a series of arguments for anarchism without much reference to what anarchism really means. It has good arguments from analogy, some simple principles everyone can accept and if they liked it and want to learn more, there is Practical Anarchy they can immediately jump into.
Phil Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 I bought Rothbard's "Anatomy of the State" which appears like an interesting short introduction.
