Miss Valeska Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I have searched for quite a while to find the mother board of the Dell OptiPlex 780/SDT, Core 2 Duo (E8400) But, I can't seem to find it for what ever reason. I've searched manuals, I've searched websites, I haven't found a thing. If you can find this, Please tell me the name, Thank you for reading.
Ruben Zandstra Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Is it defect or do you need one without having an example? If you have an old motherboard try searches with anything that looks like a version number on the board. In my case the version number was in between the card-slots and it could only be seen when all the cards where taken out.
Miss Valeska Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 I don't actually own this computer, But, I am thinking of buying it, I found it very cheap on some auction websites. I have been doing a bunch of research on it, And I just want to know EXACTLY what I am getting, And what I can do with it. What I can put in it, Etc.
Tony Crowe Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I have used one of those machines and I remember it being an Intel board. I searched for "what motherboard does OptiPlex 780 have?" The top results returned the model "C27VV 0C27VV" which looks like the one I used. I don't know your circumstances but that will not be a high performance machine. It did well for me years ago for programming and some minor graphical work. But, if I had my choice I'd rather save up and buy/build something modern and fast.
g0at Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I've owned a few computers from the Optiplex line that Dell has. The motherboards are proprietary. You can't necessarily buy them separately. That being said, there isn't much consumer information available. I will say that it is just a basic setup. Nothing really to speak of. In my experience, the HDD will fail several times over before the mobo. Why are you concerned with what the motherboard is? If you have enough knowledge to comprehend differences in motherboards, why not just build your own PC?
