Alan C. Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Christie goes after libertarians — hard New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ® on Thursday offered a clear broadside against Republicans drifting toward a more libertarian view of foreign policy, lumping Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in with them and suggesting they explain their position to victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.. . .“As a former prosecutor who was appointed by President George W. Bush on Sept. 10, 2001, I just want us to be really cautious, because this strain of libertarianism that’s going through both parties right now and making big headlines, I think, is a very dangerous thought,” Christie said.. . .“I want to say that I think both the way President Bush conducted himself and the way President Obama has conducted himself in the main on those types of decisions hasn’t been different because they were right and because we haven’t had another one of those attacks that cost thousands and thousands of lives,” Christie said. For those who don't know who this guy is, he's the asshole who sent his thugs after businesses for "price gouging," which caused long gas lines, and imposed rationing gimmicks. See previous thread.
Wesley Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Because everyone knows we went in Iraq and Afghanistan to catch the terrorists responsible for 9/11. Because we weren't occupying some 150+ countries before the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened. Because I have studied Robert A. Pape's work on what causes suicide terrorism and think we should occupy more countries. (His work shows a far, far greater correlation between foreign occupation and suicide terrorism than between smoking and lung cancer).
Alan C. Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 The scumbag governor of New Jersey is embroiled in a scandal. It's alleged that members of his staff shut down several lanes leading to the George Washington bridge (causing traffic gridlock) as retribution against Democratic mayor of Fort Lee, Mark Sokolich, who didn't support Christie's election. Christie denies any knowledge. Even if it's true that he knew nothing, his malicious, vindictive staff speaks volumes about his character judgement, priorities, and leadership (notwithstanding the lack of integrity that it takes to 'govern' others). Chris Christie: "I am not a bully."
Jer Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I kept wishing during the 2012 campaign that somebody would ask Obama if he'd trust Romney with the power to unilaterally assassinate US citizens. I know I wouldn't want Christie in charge of the NSA, or anything else...
Longshot Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I think his physical appearance speaks volumes in regards to his ability to govern himself or his ability to give a fuck as to whether or not someone wanted the last cream-filled donut.
Alan C. Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Fitch downgrades NJ debt rating, citing $800M shortfall in Christie's budget
Daniel Unplugged Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 So there hasn't been another 9/11 therefore the policies are good and should continue to be expanded. Of course, if there was another 9/11, obviously the policies would need to be expanded since they prevent terrorism. See how it works?
Alan C. Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Fitch downgrades N.J. debt, saying Christie is repudiating his pension reform Wall Street analysts at Fitch Ratings today downgraded New Jersey's bond rating for the second time this year, citing the state's poor economic performance, Gov. Chris Christie's rosy revenue forecasts — which failed to materialize — and his decision to plug the resulting budget gap by cutting $2.4 billion from payments scheduled for the state's strained pension system. Fitch said Christie's decision to cut the pension payments this year marked a "repudiation" of a bipartisan plan he signed to fix the beleaguered pension system, which is underfunded by nearly $40 billion, according to state estimates. N.J. Rating Cut by S&P as Christie Gets Record Downgrade New Jersey had its credit rating cut one step by Standard & Poor’s, handing Chris Christie his eighth downgrade, the most ever for a Garden State governor.
st434u Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Well I wouldn't say Rand Paul is a libertarian, at least not anymore than Glenn Beck or Bill Maher, both of whom call themselves libertarians (and Rand Paul doesn't). Don't make the mistake of assigning to Rand Paul all of his father's virtues, he is a very different man. Also, the 9/11 attacks were clearly orchestrated by the same terrorists who engineered the post-9/11 terrorist laws and wars. (the so-called anti-terrorism laws and wars) - If you still haven't seen it, watch the scientific presentation Blueprint For Truth, which is widely available online.
J-William Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 When you view them as different scumbags jockeying for the right to wield the gun it can be hard to get too excited about when tries a different tactic to get ahead of the others.
