Notes:

The motherboard supports running all 4 video cards @x16!

Each nVidia Titan card has its own water cooler!

The 2x on each drive is designed for RAID 0. (This writes to two drives simultaneously, giving approximately twice the speed.)

The Drive layout is designed for:

Drives 1 & 2: OS

Drives 3 & 4: Programs

Drives 5 & 6: User Data

As the motherboard accomodates 10 SATA III drives, if you wanted to add more disks (for example, a Photoshop scratch disk, no problem!)

The UPS is both a battery back-up and a power conditioner. No worries about surges. spikes, or brownouts.

I included headphones/microphone, but NOT a full 7.1 speaker system. If you wish to add a 7.1 audio system, look it up yourself! (Expect to add many hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.)

Having three(3) 27" monitors, running in 3D, full HD, is incomprehensible to most people.

All that being said, WHY EVEN BRING IT UP?

Simply to show what's available.

For the record:

I am running a system that could be built for around $300 or less.

This was mainly aimed at the techno-geeks among us (I being one). If it doesn't apply to you: go to the next thread.

It's been over 3 months for some of that build, It's now OBSOLETE.  :P

Yeah. So, add to the price of a small car. :)

Keepin' it real, tho'. How are you going to beat 4 nVidia Titans with independent liquid cooling for each.

You do introduce a solid point: "no matter what tech you buy today, it's obsolete tomorrow." :woot:

I gotta say the system is pretty extreme by todays standards. It's been a long time since I built a system thinking in those terms.

However, my problem is when I observe current technology I tend base my perspective on a series of observations of the world today, including supression of technology by political and monetary manipulation, I esimate that we are running appoximatly 150 years or more behind where we should be in nearly all sciences at least as far as what is released publicly..  I am always dissapointed when I reflect on such perspectives.  I think replicators and holodecks should be a fixture in every home just as an oven or cordless phone!  "Computers" should be fully integrated and invisible.  Gaming should be a fully immersed, interactive, 3D experience with smell, touch, taste, gforce, motion etc...  Call me unreasonable, :)
