Culain Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 A really well put together video by one of my new favourite anarchists, Larken Rose
Mike Fleming Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 He has a lot of great videos. He has a gift for getting points across in as clear and concise a manner as possible. My all-time favourite video of his is "I'm allowed to rob you"
dsayers Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 A really well put together video by one of my new favourite anarchists, Larken Rose It was a good one as per usual. And he's totally right. I'm baffled when I see people talking as if the Constitution prohibits something as it's happening. It's the collectivist, "it can't happen here" mentality. It dehumanizes other people, discourages independent thought, and blinds you to the evils of "your team."
labmath2 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I find the first post interesting, but i do not think the average person thinks i support collectivism, i think what they support is cooperation. I think it is the case that some level of cooperation is intrinsic in our systems. The problem is the average person think more cooperation (collectivism) should make us even more better off.
Culain Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 I wouldn't say that cooperation= collectivism as cooperation simply means to work together and collectivism means to place value on the group over the individual. You can only have cooperation in a free setting. Thus we actually need more cooperation.
dsayers Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I think it is the case that some level of cooperation is intrinsic in our systems. The problem is the average person think more cooperation (collectivism) should make us even more better off. I think you're referring to our interdependence; The division of labor. This is natural and has no relationship to collectivism.
labmath2 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I know the two are different, but in the right context you can make them sound the same. Politicians use plural nouns as much as possible to make the two appear synonymous (America, This great nation, We, The American people e.t.c).
