This should come as no suprise to anyone here, but now you have something to send to your friends who still believe they will change the world by voting.
Daniel Unplugged Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 What we have is not democracy per se, but representative democracy. They want to rule us, so they will never bring in democracy. They just call it that so that the fools think that the people are actually in charge of the government. It is enough to satisfy most people. Trying to determine the will of the majority on on great many different issues, by offering people a single vote on who gets to be their dictator for the next four years, is of course completely ridiculous. The system is designed to ensure that the will of the people does not influence the law much at all. The laws are written by government, passed into law by government, and enforced by government. The wishes of the people are an insignificant sidenote.
st434u Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Democracy is the worst possible form of government. That the US is not a total democracy is why there isn't total chaos and there still exists some semblance of civilization. Cuba is a lot more democratic than the US, for instance. So is South Africa. And North Korea.

Sal9000 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Democracy is the worst possible form of government. Do you have evidence for that?
st434u Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Do you have evidence for that? Of course I do. Read this book. It provides enough theory and references to keep you busy for years. http://www.amazon.com/Democracy--The-God-That-Failed-Economics/dp/0765808684 You may also want to consider these threads, the latter of which can still be seen in the first page of this subforum: http://board.freedomainradio.com/topic/32990-democracy-an-improvement-over-what-came-before/ http://board.freedomainradio.com/topic/38831-liechtenstein-the-freest-nation-in-the-western-world-because-its-a-monarchy/
