JamesP Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 The streamer is going down for several hours today. It should be up and running again tonight, tomorrow at the latest.
Wesley Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Time to go boot up my torrent seed for anyone who can't go that long without their fix.
Tyler H Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Time to go boot up my torrent seed for anyone who can't go that long without their fix. wait......you mean everyone doesn't have all the podcasts saved to their iPod?
JamesP Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 The streamer computer itself is connected and serving to the backup stream, but not yet the main one. The main stream will be serving as soon as it gets the updated DNS info.
Wesley Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 wait......you mean everyone doesn't have all the podcasts saved to their iPod? I mean, there are new people who just found the show today....
Phuein Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Is there a reason I shouldn't just always use Youtube? I find their service very comfortable, even though I don't actually need to see the vid.
Wesley Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 The main advantage is there is less data there. This means that I can download more with the same internet or data charges and I can store more on my device for times when I want to just play several of them in a row without finding them. 32 GB on a mobile device goes much further with podcasts than with videos. Some other things include that currently not all podcasts are on YT and that podcasts allow things like faster or slower listening speeds for improved comprehension or more content in a shorter time and can be listened to without actively downloading and streaming on the drive to work for instance which may go through patchy areas of service.
JamesP Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 Gonna unpin and lock this thread, don't want to confuse people about the streamer being down.
