Daniel Unplugged Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Looks like the public schooling system is really helping to push people up the economic ladder. Great value for money in regards to the workers above.
BlackHeron Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I'm surprised that prison guard wasn't on that list.
tasmlab Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 No Soldier either. In many school districts it costs $200K to education each student for the whole 13 years. I wonder if you just cut the kid a check for that amount if they would fare better. They might still be cashiers, but they'd have money.
Brentb Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I don't really see that list as a negative. Most of those jobs provide significant value to others. Though, I'm guessing that "office clerk" is code for useless beaurocrat. The most common jobs will typically be those that require the most common skills, and consequently not be high-paying positions. I'm somewhat baffled at how or why Registered Nurse could be one of the most common jobs. I get the sickly baby-boomers and all that, but still.
