dmp1ce
In my podcast client the FDR feed never shows up in the correct order. I think the reason is because the FDR podcasts don't have a date associated to them. Can the dates get added to the podcasts? It would really help me out. I have mostly stopped listening to the podcast because I never know when the shows are coming out. My podcast client is BeyondPod on Android. Kevin Beal
The actual XML feeds that podcast clients get podcasts from all include dates, so I don't think that's the reason. There are two volume 6 feeds right now, so you might be pulling from the old one rather than the latest up to date one. old one new one While there aren't currently any notifications being sent when new podcasts are added (albeit there is a new one almost every day), you could try using the http://www.fdrpodcasts.com/ podcast browser that JamesP and I built. I think it's pretty good and probably has more features than the podcast client you're using now.
dmp1ce
I'm still having a problem with BeyondPod. I created a thread on their forum too here: http://www.beyondpod.com/forum/showthread.php?3471-Podcast-not-sorting-by-date&p=13495 I think the issue has something to do with the date format but I'm not sure what date format BeyondPod is looking for yet. I've subscribed to this topic now, so I should respond faster than 1 year now.
shirgall
You can still open the feed in beyondpod and download new episodes, and there is a way to reverse the order in beyondpod. However, because I watch the youtube videos sometimes, I like to pick and choose what I download instead of doing it automatically, so I have not played with automatic downloads. If I could automatically download videos, i would be in heaven.
dmp1ce
They BeyondPod team suggested that seconds be added to the <pubDate> section of the RSS feed. They said The format the publisher is using is not QUITE a standard one - they don't include seconds in the time. Another option would be to ask them to update their feed to use one of the standard time formats for RSS feeds. Is this a possibility?
JamesP
I didn't even realize the publication date was not compliant. I'll add the seconds, though it's almost certainly going to be :
heresolong
Just an FYI, it is still doing this. I have been a bit frustrated because I thought that Stefan wasn't posting new articles. Nothing new EVER popped up in beyondpod when I did the updates. Just realized that this is the only feed in my player that isn't sorting with newest on top. Would greatly appreciate it if this could be looked into. Like dmp1ce said, beyond pod staff seem to think that your date format isn't standard so maybe that's still the issue. Thanks very much. dmp1ce
The feed I am listening to (http://feeds.feedburner.com/FreedomainRadioVolume6) does sort correctly now. I'm not sure what changed to fix the issue, but it looks like the dates were fixed in the feed. Which feed are you listening to @heresolong? Maybe I need to delete all the current episodes and see what happens with the new stuff arriving.
