rational_londoner
A really interesting video showing the attitude of violence against men by women filmed in Fitzrovia, London - the 'creative industries' centre of London and hence home to some the most well educated and intelligent men and women in the world. http://www.trueactivist.com/this-is-what-happens-when-the-public-sees-a-woman-abusing-a-man/
Guest eudaimon
It made me uncomfortable to watch the video. Great link! Violence by any gender is unacceptable.
rational_londoner
Thanks, I think what you experienced was empathy so it's good to know you have some. Quite rightly people reacted to the sight of a woman being abused by a man, but the video highlights the acceptance of the opposite. This is also the area I worked in for years so I know these people are smart and well educated.
PatrickC
Whilst not minimizing the issue of domestic violence for men, it does seem to come from both sides of a relationship that engage in it. (Erin Prizzy) However, this video demonstrates rather well the 'white knight' phenomena. Those ladies defending her would never have gotten their mojo on in a real patriarchy, since they know there would be many a suitor that will come running to their defense. Which is why any guy understands all too well that he cannot defend himself physically from the violent assault of a woman in public.
Fast and steady
He can't defend himself in private either, because she could just call the cops.
tjt
I hate that bystanders are smiling, almost laughing, when it's the female going after the male. Turning a blind eye is one thing, but giggling is a whole 'nother issue.
