Intro to self-Knowledge?

Hi!  Hope yall are having a great day!

I have a friend whose recently become interested in many of the topics discussed on FDR--in particular on how one's childhood can dictate the course of one's life to a large degree (ex. Simon the Boxer).  I've been listening to FDR for years now, but I can't for the life of me figure out which podcast to link to him to get him started on getting learning about this important topic.  The difficulty is that Stefan talks about this topic in many podcasts, but I would like to find a particular one that would serve a purely introductory purpose.

I would be grateful if yall knew offhand of a particular podcast that would fit what I'm looking for--preferably some theory explanation as well as some examples.

Thank you very much!

RTR and On Truth are good too because they include some basic epistemology in the beginning, providing a way to falsify the propositions in the books. That way there is a first principles, philosophical basis for the later analysis of these self knowledge topics. And when you start from first principles it's a lot harder to shake you from that core of understanding.

I would definitely go with the books, but some noteworthy and related podcasts that come to mind are:

FDR2129 How To Keep Your True Self

FDR1993 Self-Knowledge, Identity and Freedom

FDR1638 The Ghosts of Self Knowledge

FDR1470 Self-Esteem

FDR957 Overcoming Self Abuse

Also, I think dream interpretations are good too in that they promote metaphorical thinking and tools for connecting with the associations we are already making unconsciously. And as Freud says "dreams are the royal road to the unconscious", revealing the things that are occurring inside of us that we could potentially be conscious of.

If you click on the link in my sig, you can get those audio books chopped up into tracks that are CD and MP3 player friendly.

Fair warning: One of the hardest parts about the journey for self-knowledge is having to come face to face with the truth about your parents, teachers, clergyman, politicians, etc. For those who might accept this, it has the combo punch of those people being confronted and only doubling down, revealing that they weren't misled but actually sadistic. People who lack self-knowledge can identify themselves with any number of symbols, and this frequently includes things like family ties.

Nobody can know for sure how the transition will play out, but I hope as their friend, if you're introducing them to this material, you're able to make yourself more available to them to help them through that potentially difficult transition.
