LovePrevails Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 please complain to the editor for printing this misandric trash http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2006/nov/02/whyihatemen not only is it hateful but shit quality writing and this is meant to be a serious paper. Can you imagine a column called "Why I hate women", "jews", "blacks" etc? that would likely be libel.
greekredemption Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Poorly written for sure, but what purpose would complaining to the editor serve?
LovePrevails Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 not letting them away with printing this shit peopel would complain if the column was called Why I Hate Women for sure
greekredemption Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 CiF is known for publishing pretty mediocre stuff, which mostly has a left-wing slant but all sorts of stuff can be found on there.Evidently articles like that bring in the traffic, at least. Also I don't think CiF is printed.
nathanm Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Step One: Complain about very specific, negative behavior of individuals. Step Two: Ascribe said behavior to broad groups. Step Three: Rabble.
greekredemption Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 The Guardian Does the print version of the Grauniad contain all CiF articles? I thought CiF was for online content.
RyanT Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 The irony is I and other feminists who fight against male violence towards women and children are labelled "man haters". In an article titled 'Why I hate men' 'Super irony'?
PatrickC Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 yes, irony was never the strong point for academic feminists like Bindle..
Alan C. Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I've noticed that angry, spiteful, vitriolic feminism is correlated with being left-liberal/progressive.
hannahbanana Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 All I can see out of this article is the false conclusion that anecdote equals evidence. Unless compiled and analyzed statistically, an anecdote can't be validly used to make a conclusion about a group in general. Also, she makes statistical claims, yet doesn't list her sources. All the more dangerous for impressionable readers who are easily influenced by appeals to emotion.
FattyPeon Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 So I'm somehow responsible for male against female crimes I had nothing to do with, but other women aren't? Are we supposed to communicate with male murderers and rapists telepathically via our penises and talk them out of being insane?
Pleiades Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Step One: Complain about very specific, negative behavior of individuals. Step Two: Ascribe said behavior to broad groups. Step Three: Rabble. Step Four: ... Step Five: PROFIT!
