Philosophiza Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Hi my name is benji. I am writing this in hopes of finding the woman of my dreams. I just graduated from college in may. I obtained my bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in special education. I am looking for a long term relationship of honesty, courage, and kindness. These specifically are the standards that I hold for all of my relationships be them romantic, friendship, or family. (Insert large monolige explanation) hehe. Thusly, things like beauty are petty and of little importance. I seek a woman whom is interested in obtaining her own highest potentialialty. I currently am an entrenpenuer as I have just quit working in the public school industry. My goal is to be a therapist. And I hope to finish writing the book I have recently started about parenting. I love to play sports and have played soccer all my life. I am very active and very healthy!! Lastly I require a woman whom can laugh and have fun! I am very active and am constantly seeking new experiences to enhance and change perspective. I am very open minded and love to travel amd go on hikes with my fluffy golden doodle charles (: .
Wuzzums Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Thusly, things like beauty are petty and of little importance. I had a strong reaction after reading this and debated with myself whether I should call you out on it or not. And I am. On a biological level, that statement is false. On a personal level, are you really saying you want to be with someone you're not attracted to physically? Wouldn't the virtues you desire make her also physically attractive to you? And thus wouldn't the virtues ultimately make her petty?
marina Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Exactly! I reacted to the same statement in the same way! It smelled a bit false to me. I get your good intentions but don't underestimate the power your biology holds over you! I appreciate the shift in focus from shallow physical beauty to internal substance but be aware of your own physical tendencies and be on guard because saying it and doing it are wholely different things ...and at your age..I'd argue.. most difficult! :-)
Philosophiza Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 I find it very interesting indeed that you point out that physical beauty is apart of us biologically. I couldn't agree more that a virtuous woman would be the most attractive and beautiful woman in my eyes. Thus I retract my statement and submit both of you are completely right. It is in my hopes that through philosophy I will be able to see through any aesthetic beauty to that of their virtue. And judge how beautiful they are on that accord. Although, I am not perfect and at this point in my life I do struggle in this area. Honestly, thank you so much for calling me out. I really needed that, and appreciate your honesty (: . It truly means the world to me (: hehe. I hope you wouldn't mind messaging me. Regardless of your intentions to date or be friends. Because individuals like you two are truly rare (: . I am soo happy that I posted this and have been throughout humbled through you "calling me out." (: . I hope you guys just have a wonderful beautiful day of positive energy (: hehe.
