aleles Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Hey everyone, Do you know any studies of abuse in childhood of police officers, statistical data on this subject, or studies showing that a policeman is more violent than an average person? Thanks!
NameName Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 It took me a little while to find research on this as when I Google "Police Child Abuse", the returned results were stuff like how police deal with cases of child abuse. I ended up finding these: http://jezebel.com/5991019/forty-percent-of-police-officer-families-experience-domestic-violence http://womenandpolicing.com/violencefs.asp Seems that police are far more likely to be abusive in the home than the general population. As well, they are more dangerous as they have guns and they are well connected with the police and it's harder to call the police on an abuser when the abuser is a cop. Hope this is helpful. 2
