GOLDENICE Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Chris Hedges was a war correspondent for the New York Times for almost two decades. He put himself in dangerous places like Bosnia, Nicaragua, Iraq to name a few. Very bright and eloquent man. Read all of is books which were truly life changing!
fractional slacker Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 "In his December 29, 2008, column for Truthdig, Hedges stated that "the inability to articulate a viable socialism has been our gravest mistake."'For what do we have structures of government, for what do we have institutions of state, if not to hold up all the citizenry, and especially the most vulnerable?”[21]" Author of I Don't Believe in Atheistshttp://www.salon.com/2008/03/13/chris_hedges/
StylesGrant Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Chris Hedges is certainly not a Rothbardian, but I agree with a great deal of his points to the extent...that he criticizes people in ways that are normally immune to criticism, such as state and corporate science, insurance, and yes atheist. Do I agree with his Christianity...no...but there are definitely bad beliefs among certain atheist agendas that are not humanistic. And certain elitist strains are against the use of the term humanistic...those are probably the types I am glad to hear Hedges criticize.
