I've always been just a little suspicious of the whole "if you haven't done anything wrong you don't have anything to worry about" argument.

Yeah, the wrongs you could do in the eye of a thug in uniform are various but, since this dude works for an immoral agency, how likely could it be that those wrongs are moral wrongs?

If you have the attitude that you are owed deference and instant obedience by the people around you, and that you are justified in using violence against them if they don't comply, we already have a problem.

Regarding the "if you've done nothing wrong, then you have nothing to worry about" argument.

 

It presumes that the law = moral.

 

 

Helping a slave run away WAS against the law.  

 

 

Therefore the law is fallible.  And arguments from authority don't work.
