Bortasz
In very very short: Because Evolution program them to have children. There is no other reason. Everything other people will say is excuse to follow the program of Evolution.
J-William
I am curious of the indepth reasons as to why you chose to have kids, or why you want them, please give detail, thank you! My daughter is an awesome person and if I had to make the decision again I would certainly do it. Now, as for why do it. Well I pretty much knew before having a kid that by raising them peacefully they would be super-awesome. I also knew that I would be a better father than 99.9999% of fathers, so why leave the asshole parents in charge of the world? but also it seemed like a fine idea, and I wouldn't say that we really went into having a kid with a whole lot of reasons. I discussed it with my wife before we were married and we both wanted kids. Then we waited til we were good and ready and had a kid.
fractional slacker
Tom Leykis makes an argument people have kids for vanity and all the other reasons are ex post facto justification.
AMR
I want to have a open, honest relationship with my kids like the one I have with my partner. I want to have conversations with them not just throw information at them and not expect an inquisitive response. People in my life seem to just want to dump information or feelings on you, not discuss them. I did not want to have children until I met my current partner. I still have a lot to learn and time to grow before having kids. The whole pregnancy thing is very interesting to me, I love experiences and it seems very interesting, painful and debilitating, but interesting. IndianaLee
Interesting question. I had children later in life as a guy at the age of 34, but my wife was 22. I'm glad I waited as I wasn't mature enough earlier in life. I'm not sure except it was a selfish thing maybe. I wanted them? I mean, I wanted copy's of myself. I wanted my gene's to continue and I wanted to be a father as my father was good to me, so I wanted my own to enjoy the fatherly love I received as well. (Never hit, was very supportive, etc, although he made some mistakes, but no one is perfect). Anyway, great question. Tim
