Hello,

I think its more of a preference so i would like to ask:

1. What's the right age to separate children from parents bed to their own bed but in same room?

2. What about different room (child's own room), what's the appropriate age?

Reply appreciated

My older two moved out around 3.5, our three year old (and change) still sleeps with us.  All three, even the nine-year-old, while fine in their beds would still prefer to sleep with us if asked.  Probably about once every 2 or 3 weeks we'll spend a night co-sleeping i.e., my son and I will sleep in the guest room and my daughter sleeps with mom and her little sister in the bedroom.  My older two often decide to share a bed too.

I don't know what the right answer is, just sharing personal experience.

My son is 15 months old and still breastfeeds once during the night. So, for the first part of the night he sleeps in his crib until around 1-2am when he wakes up for milk. He breast feeds in bed and he sleeps the rest of the night with us. We're slowly trying to push that back further into the night until he is weened from night time feeding, and sleeps through the night in his crib.

Huge co-sleeping fan here! Worst thing we ever did was to “train” our 18 month old to sleep in his own room. Then we discovered all the benefits of co-sleeping (and none for the alternative) and never looked back. He is now 5. He slept in his own room for a short period around 4.5, but always came back in the middle of night. He says he will move to his room at 6.

Like Tasmlab, I do not know the answer. I feel as if I've been moving bed's around the house at least every other few weeks for about a decade now.

At some point we had one room with foor beds next to each other, that lasted for about a half year.

Currently, for the time being things seem stable now, thought our two daughters ( 5 and 7)  regularly start out sleeping in our beds, and then we move them to their own beds when we go to sleep.

So, whatever works for the time being and makes everyone (relatively) happy.
