freedumb123 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I'd love to have someone to talk to that isn't a statist and is currently pursuing the same career as I am.
Sal9000 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I worked as an actuary for an reinsurance company. Ask away
QueechoFeecho Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Libertarianism seems to have a higher representation amongst actuaries based on my experience. Even moreso for atheism. I'm an ASA.

QueechoFeecho Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 It's not too much of a surprise. It's a mathematical field, so you get people with both interest in and talent with logic. Plus it has built-in meritocracy in the exam system. You pass an exam, you get a raise. You don't have to kiss ass or play office politics to increase your income. Just study, work, learn, and pass the exam.
