MMX2010 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I like meditating on Stef's words, but I feel most self-directed and focused when I develop an aphorism inspired by Stef's words. My current one is in response to podcast 1763 Irritation, which I found thanks to Joel Patterson. It reads, "Mourn the permanent loss of your natural self, but take pride in your robot reconstruction. Robots can be happy, too." What are yours?
shirgall Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 As quoted by the EFF in 1986 ( https://w2.eff.org/Misc/EFF/quotes.eff.txt ): "As a free society matures it becomes more permissive, because theconverse is too horrible to contemplate."- Joshua R. Poulson, 1986
Pepin Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I come up with these at times. I will use italics to make them look cooler. If you often wake up on the wrong side of the bed, get a circular bed. The best time to practice patience is when you are impatient. My life does kind of revolve around me. Evil people learn from history the most. The best way to get money out of politics is to start with taxation. 1
PGP Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Don't know if this is one, I came up with it just now: "Twixt the optimist and the feminist. The feminist sees the doughnut, the optimist sees the hole!" ;-D
James Dean Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 As I wrote in a journal 6 months ago. "No one ever shot to great height in a singe moment, but instead, every day stood on legs that gradually grew in length."
