tritonx Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I just want to get over it, I contested it, the process took more than a year before there was an hearing, the cop wasn't even present. He wrote on paper that he was an expert on judging people speed... and that he saw me go through it at 30 km/h... That's not even close to what we call an american stop, which the judge joked about with the DA. The justice system is a joke, why do we even call it "justice", they are just appying rules based on whatever the current laws are. Tomorrow cannabis will be legal, will they even feel ashamed or are they some kind of robot? I am a landlord in Quebec, the system is pro-tenants, it is just ridiculous how things are handled on that side too.
kalmia Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I've been in the state temples known as courts far too many times than I can remember. And I wonder how many others can see the insanity of it all. How many normalize it? I wish that everyone who supports the state and police would be forced into it at a time when they are least able to defend themselves. I find the whole thing disgusting. But I do see the cops, prosecutors, "judges", and other supporting bureaucrats as playing the role of abusive parents for adults. It's their way. And questioning them is severly punished just as "talking back" is punished for children. We can also see the siding with abusers that is so common with society and abusers of children. They deny the abuse and insist that it was the person who was abused who was wrong.
Lee Cruz Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 ah that cop must have gotten his degree KM/H from University of Canada Poly Technical Institute for Distance Learning of the Gifted Visa Card Holders!

If you didn't have a chance to cross-examine, it wasn't a hearing in the legal sense. Additionally you were denied due process, and maybe speedy trial as well. You certainly have grounds for a motion to vacate the judgment. Object to everything, including the prosecutors claim to represent the state and the applicability of the laws to you.
tritonx Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 My question was more about how you let go of the system being shit. I'm don't want to waste any more time on this case, not worth it, even though I know the officer lied. I guess time will make me forget about it, but it sure doesn't makes me want to seek help from them, serve and protect they say, lol. I already know that for petty crimes they are close to useless. The police force is becoming a joke.
dsayers Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 The police force is becoming a joke. I think it would be more accurate to say your awareness of the so called justice system is becoming heightened. It's been a joke for as long as it was involuntary. It would be like you and me agreeing that you can fly, but then thinking that you would only fly in accordance with reality. You cannot limit the fantasies of others. You can't say to somebody that they have the power to steal from everybody, assault everybody, cage everybody where they will be raped, and murder everybody that resists and then expect them to use such a thing responsibly. If you believed you were bulletproof, you would think and behave differently than when you're e pluribus unum susceptible to bullet people.
tritonx Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 I've come to think they are just another gang with a little more power than the local gangsters. That incident wasn't my first bad experience with the police. I do appreciate when I call them for legitimate purpose, and it has hapened in the past and I'm all praise for the officers when I need their help. But the way they apply justice on the street is ... I have no word for it.

The police force is becoming a joke. If everyone fought it even as far as you did the system would grind to a halt. I guarantee you make them spend more money than they got out of you. Anyways nonviolent noncooperation is a good tactic, and you can be much more effective at it by learning simultaneously learning the rules of the games and using them in unexpected ways.
kalmia Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 "My question was more about how you let go of the system being shit." I think we have to realize the system is what it is. I have a lot of anger and frustration over the criminal "justice" system. I hate feeling that way. I assume that the best way to deal with negative people in my life is to cut them out of my life. Unfortunately this isn't possible with police and prosecutors. The best idea I have for partially removing them is to work to build community of people who understand people like me. I'm not sure how to do this or if it is even possible. But I have to try. I tend to think that anyone who calls the police for any reason does not understand the true nature of the system. I don't see any legitimate reason to call them to a situation unless it is under compulsion.
tritonx Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 I can see tons of legitimate reason to have to call them, so I'd like to know I can trust them. Until I can hire my own thugs, I like to have those muscles on call. As I said, I'm a landlord, there is time I need them even for minor thing like a noise disturbance because that's what you have to do if you want to have a court file against someone who makes too much noise. It is not acceptable to get into their appartment and break their stereo apparently. Some kind of people you don't want to have to deal with, you can't discuss with them and the cops are there for that, scumbags understand the message better when it comes from someone in uniform.
cab21 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 maybe next time you stop at the stop sign. yep, horrible justice system, so stoping at stop signs is one way to avoid part of it.
