In my experience if something is mostly successful but has flaws you don't just abandon it, you work to minimize the risks inherent to the product or practice. Hell, using a hammer has certain risks. Where would we be without hammers? I appreciate a cautionary tale as much as anyone but the anti-GMO stance of some people seems to be out of control.
