I liked the points Lionel brought up. I had never heard of his Youtube channel so I'll check it out. Gotta say from this video I think I'll be watching a lot more of his content.

I think it is absolutely crazy that many people say cops "are just here to help us" yet when a man assaults his own child the police are called in to almost to approve the actions taken by the father because by witnessing the assault and not taking any actions to prevent it constitutes to me as contributing to that abuse.

I would argue it's only bizarre if you desire protection for children. After all, who is more knowledgeable about child brutalization than police officers? ...."No ma'am, you're doing it wrong. Let me demonstrate how my father disciplined me."

Disgusting.

I only know two policemen personally, and they both came from authoritarian parenting. I defriended one on Facebook because of some horrible joke about not needing an elf on the shelf to get a child to behave because he has a belt on the shelf.

I can't imagine anyone who wasn't spanked as a child wanting to be a cop. It seems less a desire to help people, but rather a desire to unleash unmitigated power against others, the result of lacking any power or control as children. Ironically, the same parenting mode that created them also created the criminals.
