zg7666 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 This sounds interesting!? Don't Stay in School Boyinaband "What I learned in school vs. What I didn't learn in school. I can't remember feeling so passionate whilst writing something in ages. I absolutely love a lot of the subjects I mention in this - astronomy, particle physics, pure maths... but I hate that everyone is forced to learn them. It should be a choice. There are a million other things wrong with education, but this one stood out as the most obvious and most insane. The point of this song is to get people talking - if you share it, use #DontStayInSchool so we can all get involved in the conversation." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xe6nLVXEC0 5
st434u Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 It doesn't emphasize the real problems with education, and is more concerned with talking about problems with the US education system as compared to other countries'. As if education worldwide was good. If you value knowledge, then you must value everybody's right to choose what to learn and what not to learn, and when. If you support forcing anybody to learn anything at any time, you're not pro-knowledge, you're pro-brainwashing. And while we're at it, pro-slavery, too.
brucethecollie Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Does anyone out there let their child choose what they wish to learn?
