That is to say that every day will be filled with circumstances in which these ten things are virtuous responses. I don't think that's the case at all. If a father is screaming at his child is it virtuous to respond with humor, patience, forgiveness, or politeness... all things he is not showing towards the child? I would say anger would be more appropriate and "being nice" is actually unjust. People like checklists because then being virtuous feels more manageable -- just do these 5 easy tricks and you too can be a good person! I'm skeptical any time someone is selling me an easy diet.
