PatrickC
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/11569484/Sexual-harassment-Women-objectify-men.-But-wolf-whistling-is-criminal.html Clearly another example of women running to the state to assuage their hurt feelings. But this isn't the reason for my posting this article. It's never been my schtick to approach women in this manner ever. But I will say that I've seen men on an 'R' mating strategy where this worked in 1/10 times for them. That there are women that will melt when a man does this to them. But that aside. When I really considered what was going on in these kinds of interactions, it wasn't just about quick access to available pussy for them. But that this strategy was a way these men avoided the humiliation of being rejected by them. I say this because it's the women in this article that claim to have been humiliated by these men. So I have to wonder whether this is a 'walk a mile in a mans shoes' for them and they seriously don't like it. It's also kind of well known amongst us guys, that we can often use humour as a means to deflecting humiliation. Anyway the irony with all these punitive attempts by women is that it will probably just encourage the cat calling imo. As attempts to undermine this behaviour with the force of the state will just excerbate the behaviour further in these men, as they seek to avoid feelings of rejection. Women really need to open a dialogue with men, as to understanding how men feel about female rejection before resorting to such tactics. Women in the past just ignored it, understanding it was a part of life. But perhaps now it has come to the point where if women really want to understand this behaviour in some men, then they need to look inward at themselves and consider why some men think this strategy is productive for them. As us philosophers know only too well, it's only empathy that has any chance of unpicking the root causes of these issues. Any thoughts?
shirgall
As long as it becomes illegal for them to chat amongst themselves and giggle. Eye for an eye!
