Eh Steve
8-Bit Philsophy has some interesting stuff. This video in particular struck a cord as it matches the general theory we propose here. The state is a result or mirror of parenting and internal repression and a desire to make our external world match our internal world. What do y'all think? shirgall
Video games allow people the feeling of being in control without subjugating billions of real people to tyranny. It's a pity this hasn't caught on yet.

Videogames are yet another morphine drip to keep us indifferent and ignorant of the process towards tyranny at work in our world, which will lead to billions dying. Remember, I was recommending that the psychopaths become addicted to video games instead of imposing tyranny upon everyone else. Not claiming it's perfect, but decently utilitarian. shirgall
You're saying we can avoid Hitlers by mass dissemination of Call of Duty 3? Well, if you have chat on in multiplayer, it still allows them to be corrosive.
Eh Steve
There is likely some evidence of video games decreasing violence in society. I'd need to google it to be certain, I believe the causality is pretty difficult to parse out at this point. One reason to assume this is the case are the studies on rape statistics and prevelance of pornography. Porn has a pretty clear casual effect in reducing rape you can look into.

green banana
I like the 8-bit series quite a lot. I think Freud's theory of a drive for sexuality and for destruction is well worth considering. This explains why all of a sudden groups of people suddenly turn insane and support war.
