MysterionMuffles Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 A father teaches his daughter about the kind of man she should look for in the future... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH2gShKWCZw Another father teaches his daughter about lying about her age online... I wanted to know what you all think of these two videos. I found one after the other and found the contrast quite interesting. (Sorry for the double post if that happens, it's just that the first time I posted, I was just redirected to the forum page without this thread appearing, so I don't know if it got modded or if there was an error. If the original thread pops up please delete this one.)
DaVinci Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 This is difficult because we don't know any context about these families other than what these videos show. We are comparing two out of context videos of different families. That being said I'll give it a shot. I think the second girl has a very authoritarian and distant family. Otherwise she wouldn't be lying about her age to talk to people. She wouldn't feel a need to go looking for attention somewhere else. I don't think this video is going to help matters either. They have embarassed her online rather than discussing her feelings in private. I feel bad for her. The first girl is still in an early phase of development, and it sounds like the father is engaging her, which is good. Hopefully that type of engaement happens when the cameras are off too. In a sense I wonder why he shot that video. To show off his kid? Be an example to others? Just like the first video I wonder "why was this filmed?" 2
FireMinstrel Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Sometimes people decide to film now and figure out what to do as they go along. I did similar things with my camcorder when I was in high school.
