bishal Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Hello, I just listened to the interview about IQ and also heard before from Stefan that every people can take IQ-test coz its so that its not related to education or word comprehension, but just cognition. I tried to search this kind of test online but the test i found has 'grammar' type questions in it. Can anyone recommend me the most reliable place where i can test my IQ probably online? If Stefan himself could recommends any such IQ-test taking websites it would be great!!! Thanks
Eh Steve Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Googling for IQ tests can be sketchy, a lot of them are incredibly biased to inflate your score. http://www.iqtest.dk This is the one I would currently recommend. No grammar, it is just progressive ravens matricies. This one seems to be the best available online and comes recommended as such in my google searches. There used to be some decent ones from Mensa and the High IQ society but they've been put behind paywalls. 1
thebeardslastcall Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Thanks, I took it out of curiosity. Hadn't taken one in a while and some of them are definitely inflated. Seeing as this one is right on par with giving me the lowest score I ever remember getting (age could be a factor here too). I'll say this one doesn't appear inflated like some of the ones I've taken before, which surely were (I've gotten scores over 20 points higher before). Given that a non-inflated result won't sit as well with the ego it's natural to understand why people tend to prefer the ones that lie to them. I certainly didn't get an ego boost out of my result.
thebeardslastcall Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Took it, It seems I'm smarter than I think I am I think the test had like a 15 point deviation, don't worry, I'm sure you're as dumb as you think you are and just got in some lucky guesses! Seriously though it's important to remember this is only measuring (imprecisely) one specific type of intelligence of many different types and says nothing of other important factors in one's intelligence and character.

I'm super smart.
Kim Lee Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 IQ is highly correlated with SAT. So you might already have information to estimate your IQ. http://www.iqcomparisonsite.com/greiq.aspx
Snafui Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 My I.Q. has been professionally tested a few times; most recently due to brain damage from ECT with a result of 119. They said it was low because my working memory is heavily damaged bringing down the score. The above test was way off from that number. This is not a comprehensive test but is heavily focused on perception. So, if you are male you will have an advantage, or lean towards math and engineering a better outcome. An I.Q. test needs to be comprehensive to be reliable. A good example is my step daughter with ASD: She tests really low in anything vocabulary centered but quite high in perception. There's a catch for her though. She is so anxiety prone that the numbers can fluctuate heavily. She has tested as low as 83 and as high as 119. (Note: have her tested taking Valium? j/k)
Susana Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 lol, I answered 3-4 questions, forgot to go back and finish. Says my score is 90, I think a better use of my time might be to take the ace(adverse childhood experiences out of 10) test..... been avoiding it, seems like this is the link: http://www.acestudy.org/yahoo_site_admin/assets/docs/ACE_Calculator-English.127143712.pdf
